Are you not aware that with Premier Sports, we get to watch EVERY single NRL game? Hence the reason I know Weyman is decent, and Costigan is pants!

It was a bit of a surprise to see Feka's name when I logged on this morning. He caused plenty of teams problems when he played for Wigan, but just fell off the earth when he went to Salford. Made no impact at all.

At Saints I always thought we had his number, as the pass to him was usually telegraphed. Rush him early on his run and get him round the legs. It usually did the job. No need for big numbers in the tackle, but you had to catch him early.

Once his momentum was up that is when he was just like a juggernaught.

Quote: Staffs FC "I'll refer you to an earlier post I made to you which included the word 'flying'. And although the original post was said slightly tongue in cheek - a concept that I feel you might at times struggle with - '"

Ah, the old 'defend your position for a while, then say it was tongue-in-cheek'. Gotcha.

Quote: Staffs FC "it's just a feeling I get based on the posters and what has gone before.'"

But as I pointed out, it's an utterly illogical one. Those same posters were probably just as negative when we signed Galea as when we signed McGoldrick. One turned out quite well, the other not so well. But you're choosing to ignore that fact and have a 'feeling' based on one half of 'what has gone before', whilst conveniently ignoring the other half.

As an aside, on McGoldrick, I think he was 'quite good' in the games he played for us without being anything special. I think he's rated a little higher than he perhaps deserves because many expected him to be crap and he wasn't, and because our halfback options were so limited at the time that literally anyone having a half-decent game was a welcome relief.

Quote: Staffs FC "I think you've already shifted 15 points from the 'scraping the bottom of the barrel' position. But I doubt you care what I think in the same way I don't care what you think.
You don't think signing a player who (I would consider) has an 85% chance of being a poor signing is (in my opinion) scraping the barrel?

You'll be all disappointed when you see him, even If he has lost weight he's just not the same player without it, in 2012 at Salford he lost over 2nhf stone and was barley effective at all.
I work in Wigan and one of the old guys at my place is the farther of one of the academy coaches at Wigans wife. He said when feka was at Wigan he was only told to go on and take in 5 hitups and then come back off again even if it took him 25 mins he'd have to make those 5 drives and that was it for him, then he's go off and come back on near the end of the match for impact, thing is that Wigan team could afford to
Do that with him as the team they has could cover it Hull dont have the same depth of quality to cover Feka even Wigans team of this year probably hasn't.
I'm not making fun but be prepared to be extremely let down, abit like Daniel Holdsworth but a lot more let down.

Based on this year you've got it the wrong way round.

Costigans a good signing for hkr, he'll add more grunt to their middle defence.

When he was at Salford he worked really hard in pre season 2012.Lost over 2 stone and looked in great shape.Think him leaving Salford was more to do with money or lack of it at Salford because he would have been on a good wedge.

At 31 you would like to think he still has a few years left in him.A fit and motivated feka could turn out to be a decent signing as long as he isnt taking a quota spot or a lot of salary cap.

Rover fans need to go back under the rock. Last years marquee signing Paterson ended up ill and fed up, Caro simply cannot play rugby, Brown is a liability and you can count Gleesons appearances in minutes, not matches.

You've lost Dobson and Paea - your 2 best players and have spent on some highly suspect imports, while losing young players.

Still, you've taken on more directors which will help. Won't it?

Feka is a big, imposing presence on the field and along with Paea will form the impact we've needed.

You can stick with Lovegrove who's injury prone and can't tackle and Netherton who's a part-timer. Oops, I forgot about the racist guy you sacked and have paid for.

I'd laugh, but I pity you.

Ah - the old claim someone wrote something when they in fact wrote something else. Gotcha.

I said it was 'slightly' tongue in cheek which implied that it mainly wasn't. Let's say 85% it wasn't / 15% it was to use two random percentages that come to mind.

If you can quantify whatever it is you're arguing about good/poor signings then go ahead. I'll stick with what I said and you arguing with me like a dog with a bone isn't going to change it. As for Goldie it was always even more satisfying to see his outspoken critics having to begrudgingly give him a morsel of credit when it really hurt - glad I was able to squeeze a bit more out here.

You get yourself in with the last word now. I'll wait until January to see how Feka and the other signings go. Could go either way - but then we've gone full circle now.

I've been told he was history every week since just after the CC Semi. Seems to be doing alright so far.

Not convinced at all, and really shocked with a 2 year deal, everything was in our favour, surely a 1 year deal would have been better?

If he can get his form back, is non quota and cheap he might turn out to be a good signing.

My big concern is that when he lost so weight he lost some impact and looked average, hopefully he has the right balance.

Still think we need a backrow forward with a bit of impact, but not sure this will happen.

I still hope Lynch stays for a year and we will have a decent pack

Lynch
Houghton
Paea
Westy
Ellis
Whiting

Feka/Green/Bowden
Heremia
Watts
Thompson/Pitts
