| I have always thought Lovegrove was pretty decent for some reason tbh but not sure why?
Shenton would be a poor signing considering we're losing Turner who will more than likely be replacing Shenton. Stay well clear, let Rovers sign him.

Tomkins doesn't seem too bad a bloke off the pitch, and he knows he's better than anyone else on it, it'd be odd if he wasn't a bit arrogant

He knows that, does he? Sure we've had this argument before on here, but how can anyone say he's better than, say, Gareth Ellis? They play completely different positions and different things are expected of them. There are plenty of players who do their jobs just as well as Tomkins does his. That aside, his knowledge that he's a decent player ought not to make him try to referee the game all the time, and to throw himself around like Ashley Young would do after someone has lightly brushed his arm in the penalty box.

I've always rated Lovegrove, but I'm not sure where he would fit into the squad.

He knows he can score past pretty much anyone (in superleague) with his step and pace and he knows how highly rated he is, I agree there are others doing their job just as well but he's the one the journos like to kiss

Well, sometimes he can. Not all the time though, or it'd be 100-0 to Wigan every game. So he's no different to lots of players, in that respect. He's excellent in attack, but he's not the invincible superhero some make him out to be.

He is, but that's more to do with the fact the his job is to do the fancy, eye-catching stuff. It's easy, I suppose to wax lyrical about the bloke who has just scored a nifty try, but less fashionable to highlight the work of the other blokes that have created the conditions for him to be able to score the try. Which is why I took exception to you saying he was 'better than anyone else', I suppose.

His job isn't to do the 'fancy eye catching stuff'...........He's excellent with ball in hand, under a high ball, very creative, good in defence, works great with Leuluai and Finch as a 3rd ball handler.... all the attributes a good full back has... 1 of the better players in the Super league, if not the best....Could even call him a game changer

| Excellent with ball in hand, creative and working great as a third ball handler are more or less the same thing, just said in slightly different ways. He's good in defence without being outstanding, but what sets him apart is his broken field running, where he is the best in the division. When I say it's the fancy stuff that catches the eye, that's what I mean: if his broken field running wasn't so exceptional, he'd just be one of many very good SL players.

| Tomkins is a better player at FB than any other player is in their positions.

I agree, I think his age also plays a role in his reputation as he was so good from a young age, and has only got better.
He must be one of the best broken field runners in the world at the moment

In SL, I'd agree, but he's not the best FB in the game, so that statement only goes so far.
