| Should have seen the season out IMO. He's let the club, his team mates and the fans down badly

My thoughts too . A big let down .
Leaving at the end of the season would have been more honourable.
McKinnon has shown a complete disrespect to all associated with Hull FC.

| Noticed that Gentle was quick to point out to Gwillym on RH tonight that McKinnon "wasn't one of my big signings" when G said he was losing one of his big signings. He definitely gave the impression that he wasn't a fan and seemed to be critical of the lack of research done by the previous administration when they signed McKinnon saying there's more than just what a player does on the field to take into account.

| Quote: kt170496 "Before poster have ago have they lived abroad for 3plus years .People do get home sick and want to go home
from 1959 to 1965 I lived in Gib and Germany. only in the last two years when the wife was with me in Berlin (1963/65 )did I start to enjoy being in the Army .Even the wife got home sick and wanted to come home .In that 2 years she came home twice (on leave )I know how the lad feel you do miss your family around you .nobody to share your troubles with .Before poster have ago try living apart from love ones more so ladies apart from they mother.'"
With all due respect, being posted overseas in the army in the 1960s (during the cold war tensions et al) cannot be remotely compared to being away from a wife (with no kids) in the 21st century when you're on a bloody decent wage and not been forced to be somewhere were you are under threat from an enemy (Even if some parts of Hull can be a bit iffy it isn't the same as the FRG and I assume you had no say in your posting detail?)
Even if he were too tight not to have his missus fly out now & again he could 'see' & speak to her via video calls on a daily basis which cost nothing. Also it isn't as if he couldn't go back home for 3 months. of the year.
As I mentioned first up after everyone had given him the love in, he's a grown man & needs to grow pair or just man up & tell the truth if he got a better deal elsewhere. Had respect for him as a player, lost it for him as a man...

| Quote: fc casual "I seem to recall pre-season that one of our new signings was having doubts about coming over after Gentle was announced as coach.
I do wonder if it was doubts over Mckinnon and that he and Gentle don't see eye to eye.
He's been one of best players this year and it seems strange why he'd walk away from a lucrative contract by all accounts after only 6 months. More to it then home sickness to me.'"
This is what I'm thinking, Gentle didn't want him at the club, didn't rate him and know's how much of a wet blanket he is.
Good riddance.

| Quote: kathy kirk "I have kept quite on this one so far but I agree with you. If you sign a 3 year contract and it means living in another country then go with it. I am told that he did not like the weather - well by the way Wade nor do we. I have a sister who has lived in Perth for the last 22 years and at times the heat is awful but you go with it. As a sportsman you sign a contract for how ever long it is and your family go with you - My Husband also worked away like you did and Armed Forces leave their families but this guy had an opportunity to see a different culture with his family ( I could be talking about Tevez) another looser.
I am told (listen at me) that he thought he was in a sh----ole - now did he mean Hull or England in general do we care in a few years/months in a quiz no-one will remember his name.'"
Utter rubbish.
As somebody who thought it would suit me to live in the Middle East for work for a while, when I actually tried it I hated being away from family and the UK, and came home early. It was NOT a reflection on the people or the place I live in, they were fine, it was just something I discovered about me. The only way to truly know if something is going to work for you is to get out and do it. Wade did that, this decision has probably taken him as much by surprise as anybody.
I wish him the very best in the future and hope he enjoys life back at home.

read the posts!
he lived in Aukland for a while, that is wetter than Borneo and colder too
its all about the backbone in the man... he ran to better wages clear as day..
hes gone, in three months he will be forgotten forever he was that memorable.
this was no Gary kemble here were talking about but in fact a damaged injury prone 30 plus journeyman bought by the last regime and paid a fekkun big wage to boot.
Glad hes gone let the whiner go home to mamas shirt tails and we move on and find PGs choice who will take us forwards .
He let us all down club and fans alike
end of story

Would you agree its a bbit of a difference between 3 1/2 hour flight and a 24 hour flight?
weather can be an issue put surely you can see being on the other side of the world to his family is a pretty big issue?

The length of flight is irrelevant, its the wake up kiss from the kids, the footie in the back garden, the sunday dinner, the day at the beach... those are the things your likely to miss not the length of flight involved.
WWW/ skype/msn the phone etc is your friend if you feel homesick and thats all there is to it....
leaving half way through the season is disrespectful and spineless
hes gone like the last visit to the bog and about as memorable.....
