Sorry you feel that way. Just wanted to come on and explain what had happened, could have just left it alone.

The explanation was appreciated Mike. It's just extremely frustrating when your only link to the team on matchday appears to be disrupted rather easily (this is not the first time by any means) and cuts off well before any possibility of a proper after-match discussion or interviews with coach and players.

I realise that you aren't personally responsible for the shortcomings of the station but unfortunately you're their 'face' on here so will cop some flak from time to time. Nothing personal.

Surely you [iare[/i responsible for the portrayal of the rugby coverage? The statement made by a foolish female presenter last week: "If you've tuned in for the rugby, then tough" is not acceptable and simply would not have happened if it was City coverage that had been curtailed. Not good enough. As the Sports Editor Matt Dean should have apologised for that, and explained that in the future the after match coverage would continue until 10.30.

Unfortunately, none of this was made clear until it happened. You can't blame people for being frustrated. I know you're new to the job, are you up to it? It's a service to licence-paying customers you're providing, not a freebie we should be grateful for.

I'm going to make this my last comment before I 'take my leave' but I hardly think 6 years is 'new to the job'.

Oh right, didn't realise. I don't listen to Humberside post match any more, I only used to on the way home from the game.

And I understand why Carl (if I may address you by your first name as we havn't been formally introduced).

Listening in the car coming away from the match, this consisted of 10 minutes of ... the news, the weather forecast, a blurb about Hull and the Olympics, Primal Scream and over to Gollum ... by which time thankfully I'd arrived at the pub.
