| Quote: ICECREAMMAN "As for the Chris Mackenna comment earlier in the thread, i would have loved to have him when in his prime he was outstanding so why he should have been bagged is beyond me'" Chris McKenna was a solid player but no way would you have ever expected him to get selected for Australia.
I used him to highlight how weak Australia were at around the time Waterhouse won his test caps, I mean on that tour Darren Smith played for the Kangaroos even though he had just retired.

| Quote: ICECREAMMAN "couldnt agree more paul!
waterhouse played for Oz in a period where he was ay his best and deserved it but most definately a player looking to the Brits as a final pay packet IMO... NOT what we need...and not all that anymore anyway.

McKenna was a good centre but not in the same class as those who went before and since in the green and gold. Don't think HF was bagging him as such just pointing out that Australia had a weaker side back then.

| Waterhouse will suit Wire to a tee, hit the line look for the supporting man and get the offload out in fact he'll probably do a better job than Louis Anderson rumoured to Catalans.
Louis is a hard hitting rower who again will suit Catalans very physical style.
I'll concede of the earlier comment on Seymour too, again a player that possibly at another club wouldn't suit them but a club like Hull crying out for a half back he'll probably do well, horses for courses and that.

but how do you know that the younger lads are good enough for this level or ready enough?
fitz and lauaki will leave a big gap in the forwards ecpcially fitz so for me 2 new forwards preferable young ideally watts and flanagan would be good

Still wouldn't go for Waterhouse, there is much better players in the NRL who, may be tempted over. Such as the Heighington (spelling?) rumour, I'm sure someone said he's available/looking to come over.

Seriously what is the big deal with Flanagan? Is it because he's English and played in the NRL?!

hes very young, english, a backrower, 1 of the better occ backrowers and has plenty of potentail and the fact that when hes played for wests he hasnt looked out of place at all and the couple of years down under would of done him the world of good. if there s better english backrower occ then let me know im just suggesting players ffs

Go on.....see how long you go go without saying the 'F' word.....we'll be watching!

| Might be reading too much into it, but Craig Murdock was asked tonight whether he thought Lauaki would be here next year and he said he didn't think both Moa and Lauaki would be - would be one or the other. So maybe if we don't agree terms with Moa, we'd keep Lauaki?
Also Agar said he'd like to think Richard Horne will stay.
