Well the point I was trying to make was that if a shirt is a huge success then surely it's a great shirt? I would be quite happy for Rovers to release a pink, purple and lemon away shirt if it sold in the numbers that the grey and orange one did. Seriously watch the 2009 derbies back, nearly every other person had it on, it's rare to see an away shirt be that popular as a percentage amongst the fans.

Remember the Hull City shirt that had the tiger print, that one an award iirc at the time, now that was a truly awful shirt.

Yeah remember that, nice retro value now though. Don't forget as well though that it was par for the course at the time - early 90's football kits were often very flash and colourful.

I saw the retro shirt in the club shop today. I was quite impressed with the quality but it just looks wrong with the collar on a shirt with the mid 80's club crest. If it had the V neck I'd have bought one

Agreed. The V neck was perfect on that shirt.

I don't ever remember us playing in a shirt with that crest and a full collar on so it's hardly retro anyway
