100% agree, and it's still true of a few players despite our improvement this season (imagine how good we could be!). I think Lauaki is one who definitely deserves a bit more time though.

That's what's frustrated me for the last few seasons. I am imagining how good we could be but we rarely seem to operate at that level.

Which is why I don't like to try and pin it on individuals unless it really does seem to inarguably lie with them. With it being multiple players not producing their best, IMO it is more likely to be some common denominator along the way (and before this is seen as an attempt to derail into an Agar-bashing thread, it could be him, it could be something else).

Sometimes it's difficult to be sure whether players are not producing their best, or whether they weren't quite as good as first thought and are merely operating at a level which they can best attain. I'm struggling to think, for example, of any players that have left Hull for other clubs and gone on to be far better than they were here.

FWIW our team has been poor the last 2 or 3 years in the main due to to an absence of a settled and capable half back pairing. Many other players' performances live or die by the quality of halves in the team IMO.

And i aspire to be top. I'm not happy that there are 3 teams above us based on the fact that we're 4th and have played average rugby a lot. Imagine where we could be if we played well.

i think we have done ok considering the injury situation.long term we have missed our 1st choice 2,6,7 as well as o'meley at the moment,and also we lost manu,berro, for a number of weeks.leeds were struggling without sinfield(and thats just 1 player).saints are now without eastmond for the rest of the season,and pryce is doubtful.wigan(1) and wire(2) have relatively got away with it injury wise.

I fully understand that it doesnt help to have injuries. I've witnessed Leeds and Saints for example play a lot better rugby than us even with their kids in.

I've said it for a couple of seasons now, we consistently under perform and there are no excuses for it to the extent that it happens.

Maybe we just produce what we're capable of. ATM we've (IMO) got about the 6th best squad in SL yet are 4th and we should be very happy with that but look to build on it next year and the year after.

The standard of performance that i watch.

That combined with the fact that we never hammer anyone, we often get beat by teams below us in the league who we shouldnt lose to and we narrowly scrape victories in certain games where a performance is required. I can count on one hand Outstanding performances in the last 3-4 seasons. We aren't clinical. We aren't ruthless. Mentally we're so far behind Leeds, Wigan and Saints it's unbelievable.
