Houghton is back in the 21 man squad with Smith and Balmforth. Let's hope Balmforth makes the 18 and comes off the bench. I'd give him fifteen minutes either side of half time to see if he can have an impact again.

I cannot understand this endless criticism of Houghton. Yeshe is not James Roby but many coaches wiser than us play him for reasons some of which we don’t see. The ones I see are tackling, game management, kicking, less so his running now. I do agree he needs to be spelled in games and not play when he carries more than just the regular niggles

It should be the Physio who declares him fit not Houghton himself

Any body else got a feeling Grix will go with Houghton and Smith seeing as Cartwright and Myler extended Balmforths contract….part of me hopes he does then they can get rid of him.

To be fair Grix is openly said this week that Houghton has more than just rib injuries. I just don’t see why we have to shoe horn him in to the squad. Yes he’s been a great servant but Father Time has caught up not helped by a refusal to play him in 20min spells.
