| Hubby commentates on Warrington for Wire FM so sees Westy week in week out. When I asked him what he thought he said that if he could pick a player of the year right now it would be Westy without a doubt. Now I know that with Warrington's season so far that's not hard, but he says he's really been their one player who's created chances.

| No for me, that ship sailed. Sadly my abiding memory is that defeat against Leeds where nearly every time he touched the ball it was an error. Capable but never quite delivered.
Can't see how Championship rugby will give JA fitness which all other regimes have failed to deliver ? Only he can sort out - hope he does but not holding breath.

I'll trust the club and Radford's judgement on this. If he wants him back, get him.

| Consistency was an issue for Westerman, but don't think his attitude could be questioned on and off the field.
If Radford wants him and we can get him great, one of the better English backrowers and we have to replace Ellis, Mini in the near future.

| My first thought when I see Westerman's name is of those crap seasons where we was one of the main players in the side. It's completely unfair really, he never gave anything less than 100% to the club, it's just his performances embodied the teams performances in those seasons - inconsistent, error-strewn, lacking that touch of quality in attack etc.
What we maybe forget is he was being asked to do a job as a ball player and creator that we just wasn't able to do to a high enough level, and the mistakes he made (someone mentioned the Leeds game ) really stuck out because they were usually in important positions.
He's a different player at Warrington, he's a consistent high performer in a side boasting a lot of quality players (even if the team have been poor this year), he's not being used in the same way he was at Hull.
If Radford would have him back, a coach who knows him the best, who are we to argue? If Ellis leaves, we need a replacement capable of taking on the dirty work - the workrate, the long minutes down the middle, the tackles, the hard yards. I don't think we can afford to give Abdull the 13 shirt at the moment as he doesn't yet have these attributes that our team needs in it's 13 as it's current set up. He'd be quality in the opponents half when we have the ball, but I'm not confident he could fulfil these other elements that a 13 needs, but he has loads of time on his side.

To be fair to JA he has looked in shape and seems to have his head on correct, Sheens seems to really like him but he has not played him at 13 at all this year. He even played centre for half a game last week.
For me he needs to up his attacking kicking game, very good defensive kicker and good in terms of game management but his kicking lacks the finesse around the try line.
As for Westerman, I thought your game against wire turned on its head at the same time as JW went off injured, he looked very good up to that point, he went off and wire crumbled

| Westy with a simple role would work well.
Consistency is odd to be levelled at him tbh. A lot of time he was surrounded by s###
2014 he was my player of the yr till late on when Ellis nudged him out. Backed by the fact he got England selection.
Thing is with Westy was he was a pain. Coaches would go through a drill. He'd say " no I know a better way"
Coaches would say "no do it our way". Run the drill and he'd do it his way
Some1 in the club told me that
So unless they're sure there's gonna be none of that I'd be suprised

Really?
A player being pushed to the top of his game on a weekly basis to play in a first team environment would not have a positive effect on both his fitness levels, but also his experience and decision making?
I think the long term plan for Abdul (my opinion, ) was to gain match fitness / experience so be a ready made replacement for either Ellis / Mini, should one of these hang up their boots.

| Watching Abdul week in week out as i am, i feel i am qualified to inform on this.
Not only is his confidence and game management improving week on week, but his fitness and build is changing. Not sure if you have caught any highlights anywhere but he is looking slimline, fit and athletic.
Great move for the lad this is becoming.

| I've noticed Abdull has lost weight in some of the highlights of the Rovers games. So much so, that I couldnt really tell which one he was

Would you move him to 13 in your current line up or leave him at 6 for now?
As for Westerman, I wasn't that gutted when he left and wonder what the reasons would be for him and us if we are considering taking him back so soon, whats changed about him as a player and us as a team that we feel we miss him in our squad
