Good point. As he only joined halfway through he'd have presumably gotten only half a season's salary off us that first season which we had room on the cap for. But a full season salary the following year meant someone had to move on. Shame it was Lynch. I rated him highly.

Oh they made mistakes without a shadow of a doubt, but it's easy to say that with the benefit of hindsight. At the time we weren't sitting here questioning why the signings were being made. Crookes, Arundle, Pitts, McDonnell, Miller. All seemed like decent signings at the time. Indeed a few of those put in good performances for us.

Regardless of how many avarage players we had collecting big salaries, that bunch of players had, as you say, two 6th places, two playoff wins, and a trip to Wembley. We can only dream of that now.

I think we have and this shows by how many are still attending home and away.

The problem is most fans are fed up with poor and boring rugby, as I have said before, I am currently attending more out of loyalty than enjoyment.
