Kicking awful, kick chases poor (did we even challenge the catcher on any bomb?) kick pressure poor and some poor one on one defence at times. Scoreline flattered us I thought and if it weren't chucking it down they'd have won by more.
We're so slow with playing the ball, our passing is awful and our "moves" are so telegraphed we're easy to close down. Can't fault the effort but I personally think there are some significant fundamental flaws in our game which won;t be addressed purely by recruitment.'"
Sums it up perfectly for me too.

| We could quite easily finish 12th or 13th. Do people think that is acceptable?

Completely agree.
and i'll also add the final 3 mins as a great example of 'dumb' rugby. We had just scored a try that meant if we kicked the conversion we'd have been in with a chance of snatching a draw. We took what seemed like an age to get a kicking tee on and take the conversion wasting valuable time (the conversion in the end was a very good effort though)
we then got a scrum in Warringtons half, but instead of doing something inventive, like say getting the ball kick out the scrum and kicking for the corner, kicking up a high bomb and chasing...we decided to do the usual slow one man run to the line which of course did nothing.
these minor things we get wrong every week can be the difference between getting points or not.

I don't think it's acceptable to finish outside the 8, personally. But I'm being realistic about it. This squad and this coach are simply not top 8 standard. In fact we are often simply gash.

| Another match like nearly every one of our defeats this season. We are competetive, we show plenty of effort and spirit, we defend reasonably well, but ultimately we make dumb errors and lack cohesion and as a result we fall short.
I can't be too disappointed with tonight. When Horne went off I thought it was going to be a very long night but we were still in the game until the final whistle. I agree that simply signing new half backs won't solve our problems though. The most important signing for is this year will be a top class attacking coach to work alongside Radford.

| In light of the same old, same old, boring dumb rugby we play week in and week out and having to listen to an interview with Radford which could so be a re run of the previous weeks with the continual buzz phrase of game management being used why do people think next season will be any different?
I can't see even with the recruitment how things will change and my optimism for next season continues to ebb away.
If Rovers can bin off a coach who was faring better then us with a weaker squad why do we persevere with Radford?

AP will tolerate it this year. Doubt he will next year.

Good half backs will improve us, I have no doubt about that. But without the right coaching they can only take us so far.
I think the fact we can be competitive every week despite looking like a disorganised rabble tells you that we have some pretty good individual players, but we need everyone pulling the same way and doing the right things at the right time.
Sneyd and Pryce obviously know how to unlock a defence, but the other 11 on the field need to be able to play their part or it just won't work.

| Wire seemed just as error prone as we were. Difference was that while they dropped the ball as much as us, we were guilty of making some horrific decisions. Houghton running down the short blind and getting pushed out (which he was lucky didn't happen the 2 times he'd tried it before then) and Talanoa giving a penalty away while we were in possession was criminal.

Brevity is not a strong point with Jake so for those of you with less time on their hands;
You were rubbish and will remain so with Radford.

I agree with all of that but for me I still think a new coach is paramount.
Powell has been at Cas and worked wonders in 14 months and I think the emergence of Sneyd this season under Powell is no coincidence.
I can't see how our current coaching incumbent will improve or develop that

All men are created equal, some work harder in preseason.

| our attack was like we were competing with Thaler for most incompetent act of the night.
Positives, Abdull can boot it into orbit and didn't take any pushing around, and Lancaster can shift!

Abdull might not take any pushing around, but iirc it was him Russell ran around for their first try.

I agree, as ive said on here before, it'd be a tough job for even the most experienced coach nevermind a rookie coach.

Thought radfords interview was absolutely bob on. Totally corect in what he said for me.
Our problems adressed before game n during yet we still making errors. Often the young lads, which is what it is. U get that. Add losing a half back early. The second halfback gone in 2nd half. The loss of the hooking interchange to cover that n fact you've a hooker at 7 means we'd always struggle tonight.
Bonus to see lancaster going well. Pace unreal in that 2nd try. Abdulls quickness of mind for lancasters 1st was pleasing to see.too.
combined with the weather as well as a couple of dubios ref calls im not gonna get to down about tonight
