| 1. Shaul (because he had the consummate game you want to see from your full back).
2. Ellis (aggression.)
3. Miller/Houghton (can't separate these 2, each immense in their own way)
Special mention to Gareth Carvell and Mickey Paea, don't play the minutes that those outlined above do, but in their own way laid the basis for the above to dominate the game.
Well done boys, form can be temporary, but passion and commitment shouldn't be questioned.

Shaul was heavily involved, but it was the work of those 3 (amongst others) that made it possible. I also thought he made a few daft decisions to just miss out.

Thought Talanoa played well. Takes three guys to put him down!

Then any one from about six, but I'm going to go for Whiting. Great first half. Classy footballer and gave us confidence at the bacl.

I can't look past the forwards because they were so dominant, but with regards to Shaul, that is the first time I've watched him and thought, he's developing into a proper well rounded fullback. We know he's got attacking ability, but the rest of his game has taken great strides lately.

This. Their first stint was massive and they really set the foundations for the backs to do their thing.
Oh, and an honourable mention for Bowden for taking the wind out of Crabtree's sails with that hit.

| In no order: Shaul, Ellis and Carvell/Paea. Shaul had a really good all round game. Ellis lifted the team and led by example whilst Carvell and Paea were outstanding and I can't choose between the pair.
Special mentions: Houghton, Bowden, Rankin and Miller. Houghton was at his best last night and that try was a beautiful team effort. Bowden purely for that hit on Crabtree. Finally Rankin and Miller, passed the ball and kicked well at times which was lovely to see. We have the makings of a good half back pair there I think.
