| I think the main thing to look at here is the relationship you have with Doncaster. They can still get the 5 dual registration players but also have two young lads who will be good enough to play almost every week at that level. I would be there is a clause in the contract that Hull FC have first refusal on their services come the end of their current Doncaster contract.
Cooke and Radford have clearly looked at how to benefit from this partnership and I can only see it doing good over the coming couple of years. Especially for the young lads.

| Quote: hullbg "Anything like that would be a much more sensible approach. With the current situation not only do we have to rely on dual reg to get players games we also have nowhere for our senior players to play when they are coming back from an injury or on the fringes.'"
Recall that Morley and Briers both had games at their duel reg club Swinton last season when they were returning from injury, not sure if Cooke / Radders have built in this scenario for our set up Donny

| Hope not from a Doncaster view point we only took fringe players from Wakefield & that's how it should be .

| The system worked to some extent with Doncaster and Wakefield because we took fringe players and gave them regular rugby and sustained periods in the team. It doesn't work, in my opinion, in the very short term particularly when the players are unfit

Doncaster will have to pay their wages now though - although Hull might be able to cover it indirectly through a 'joint initiative' or by 'sharing resources'.
The fact they've [iboth[/i gone to Doncaster, rather than any other Championship club does make you wonder, certainly. If they'd already spent time there, as I assume they did at York last year, it'd be a bit less suspicious. Then again, it is one of the easier places to travel to from Hull.

Along with my point above, this where a 'partnership' or 'development pathway benefitting both clubs' starts to look a lot like a farm team. I'm not throwing stones - one of our assistant coaches is also head coach of Gateshead, and they had a Rovers badge on their shirt last year.

I think they have Gary, there were 2 lads that looked distinctly like them at the team photo last Saturday.

| I was told yesterday that Hull had renewed their interest in that Fijian prop from the World Cup and that an agreement had been reached with him but there would have to be a player(s) released because of Cap pressures. Would tie in if Pitts has gone.

Surprised if Pitts has gone, did ok for us last year, would be even more surprised if he's gone to Donny, good enough to remain in SL IMO

| Be massively disappointed if we sign the Fijian prop, we have 5 good SL props, some of who need game time in SL to improve plus BTW who has impressed in pre season and could play the odd game, I could understand if he was a top prop, but he is average.
