Why in God's name does he want to change from Hull City to Hull Tigers?

I know he's spat his dummy out with the Council but it's not as though anybody would associate Hull City with Hull City Counc...

Surely Hull City is shorter than Hull Tigers? Or will he be writing in Egyptian, maybe it is shorter that way?

If nothing else he has created a talking point for his beloved club. People down here in the beautiful south are talking about them. I personally don't really get what the issue is. They are the tigers and have been for as long as anyone can remember. I have never heard anyone refer to them as Hull City Association Football Club. Most # I see on twitter for them are #UTT so what is the issue.
It is not a complete renaming in the way we became Sharks over night. But it is causing one or two (thousand) to see the good Dr for what he is and what we have warned them about.
As someone has said its very funny watching from afar.

IMO it is another attempt at getting the stadium. I think he is deliberately being obtuse, to alienate the fans. They will then hopefully get on his side when he says "the only other way to make money is to get the stadium"

I think he is doing himself no favours, on a now national basis.

My original post was that I just think it would be amusing (if unbelievably childish and counter productive) for Pearson to say something like that off the cuff.
