Nobody is requiring you to forgive anything, and even the article doesn't blame anyone but Raynor himself for his downfall. However, I do have a certain amount of sympathy for pretty much anyone who gets into such a state that they contemplate or attempt suicide - even if only for the effect that would have on their family and friends.

Was probably after stopping using the forums and reading Standees posts that he needed the sleeping tablets instead

| As a player he was one of my favourite ones at Hull. His off field antics have let him down big style. He is basicly a mug to himself.
I do sympathise with anybody though who is so low they contemplate topping themselves.

I too was a big fan of his at Hull, he let himself down big time with his off-field stuff. However I would never wish this on anyone. I don't understand how being a 'convicted violent racist con merchant who regrets getting caught' warrants no sympathy for nearly topping himself from the fans of his former club.

| The article for me shows how the RFL have learned from Terry Newton's death last year. I criticise the RFL a lot but have to give them a big well done for being there for someone who needed it.

| Agree 100% with Karen.
Personally I prefer to remember Gareth Raynor the rugby player who, until Tom Briscoe entered the scene with that 90 yard try against Rovers, was simply the best player I've seen in the number 5 jersey for Hull FC in 50 plus years.
Best wishes for the future Gareth.

I think the new State of Mind campaign has been brilliant about spreading the awareness, too.

| Saw him in the pub before the play off game at leeds. He took loads of friendly stick from the hull fans. He just laughed it all off, signed loads of shirts, photo's with fans. It was lot quieter downstairs but he stayed with us all until game time. he seemed a nice bloke. So he ripped off an ink company big deal. There's a lot done a lot worse n walking round with an asbo
