is it done on a position by position basis or are there some positions not decided yet.

btw i'm a believer in only having a few players in a hall of fame - that way you get the truly great players and don't risk filling it with other players just for the sake of a decent 5 course dinner and night out

As far as loose forwards go Norton and Whitely and I don't think anyone will argue with that. This vote is for the 3rd choice and I'm surprised that Casey even got a nomination - surely there have been better than him other than the 3 other nominees who were all clearly superior and contributed more as a Hull player. Casey played 5 years (not particularly long) in an undistinguished side and was hardly considered the star man. His fame as a player, that of a cheap shot merchant known for late hits on the opponents half backs, was earned with another team.

However if the dobbins were to do a hall of fame then Casey would be a walk in, chiefly for the harm he did to Hull with his disastrous coaching spell.

FWIW my choice would be Crane, a very good player and always entertaining - though I wouldn't have wanted to be his coach.

Mick Crane was one of the best back rowers I've ever seen at Hull.

Mick was no way a big drinker, actually the majority of the players were not big drinkers as such and just had a pint after the match, it is well documented those that did like the drink and I think most just assume the players of the 80s were piiss heads when they simply were not. They played on Boxing day and I know most families of players had there xmas festivities on Boxing day night as most of the players would not drink on xmas day before the match.
