I don't think there's anything there to suggest that he's staying.

Hopefully, he's got employment lined up at Wakey (god help them) for next year but he'll have negotiated some kind of payoff from FC for the last year of his contract. Until then, he's being a good 'company man' and saying all the right things about the new regime to ensure he gets his money and his departure is portrayed in a positive light for everyone concerned.

Pearson isnt stupid he knows that if things stay the same pass sales and crowds will go down the pan.

I thought that. More subtle deflection of blame on to the old board, a bit of praise for the new man in and the suggestion that it will enable him (Agar) to deliver. Could easily be as much an attempt to hold on to next year as another chance.

I guess much will depend on how we perform in the remaining matches and whether we make the 8. Pearson will be watching the performances and no doubt the attendances too.

If we win beat Cats and Cas we'll make the 8 and that may be enough to persuade Pearson to give Agar 6-8 matches next season.

Exactly. If he is going (and possibly already has another job lined up) why not just announce it now.

Might still be negotiations ongoing on a release, or his new job, or with his replacement. There are a number of reasons TBH. Still have a nagging feeling that he'll be here next season though.
