How do you know how much he has earned?
And why should how much he has earned stop him having a testimonial? Didn't stop Horne having one and I can imagine he has been one of hulls top earners for years.

I think you'd find I've often said I think testemonials are no longer the right thing to do, people forget their original purpose.
You support it if you want, I will be one of many that don't, it's called a choice.

Tis true you have always being of that opinion when it comes to testimonials, and you do have a valid point tbf.

| It would be nice if some of the money goes to a charity? But,not only is he a hull lad,but he also runs a business,so presumably has employees. This in itself,in today's harsh climate,is a credit in itself. It's not as if he will take the money and run!

| Quote: CRAIG 73 "Hmmm..... I guess I'll be the first to say it. Lee Radford left Hull FC at the begining of his career, following the money and signing for a far better Bradford team.(I dont blame him for doing it, he won a stack of winners medals) He spent his prime years at another club and then returned to Hull in the Autumn of his career. Should he really qualify for testimonial? IMO testimonials should only be granted to players who remain loyal to one club for a number of years. If he is donating to charity I wish him luck, but I would question his right to a testimonial.'"
Like Standee I agree 100%. If he had done 10 years uninterrupted for us then fair enough I would support and contribute like I did to the recent Horne one. Cannot fault him for leaving us to better himself but I don't see why we should then contribute to his retirement fund.

Im with you Standee(Cant beleive i said that). Testimonials were traditionally a way for players who back in the day were not that well paid, to make a few quid at the end of their careers, a pension if you like. Nowadays players are well paid, plus all the benefits of sponsors and the like. IMO testemonials should only be awarded to players who give long service to one club ie Horne or Yeaman. 1000's of people dedicate themselves to helping youth development and helping charities, most of them do it for the love of it. Im sure Lee has done plenty in this field but IMO tis shouldnt qualify him for a tesemonial.

from what I have seen and read the majority of testemonials pre-SL were to give the player a deposit for a decent boozer to become landlord of!

Standee and Craig are right its your own choice if you support the testimonial or not and people have different opinions on Testimonials as players are paid handsomely in these days.
Lee has been granted the Testimonial for is services to Rugby League hence 3 months and not a year like Horney....You can't blame Radders for taking it up he will be supporting the Life For a kid Charity as well as he has done over the last two years since we started.

Not blaming Lee in any way, and it's great he is linking it with Life for a Kid.

Not blaming him at all, he has been allowed the mini testimonial and he would be daft to turn it down.

| Yes I know your not blaming Lee......In my opinion its can also depend on the quality of the Testimonial events and making them entertaining for the Fan's and not just the chance to line the players pockets with endless Race nights etc...
The events we have lined up are quality and exciting events that fans will want to attend whether its Testimonial or not
I think if you do too many events as well its hard for fellow players to attend and they get a bit tedious.
As for Yeamo I think he will probably be looking to go for a Testimonial after Lee's

Has he really served us well? If you mean on the field, I feel he has been average at best. He has been professional yes, but you expect that from every player. Does not deserve a testimonial IMO.
