| Quote Tooms2000="Tooms2000"Noble is the BEST British coach around proven track record he dragged Wigan back from the brink . took a team from Wales and got them into the top 8 .What could he achieve with the money that has been given to Agar .I say sign him NOW after he has had his Sunday fry up .Every one now knows we are in a state . Desperate means desperate measures . Long may have a very good RL brain but as yet he is no coach .Lowes proved that you have to learn the role as a coach . Fitz does he want or need the hassle
Noble is there waiting and ready sign him and we might achieve some thing this year'"
If we want to be competitive then noble is OK. If we want to be winners then it has to be an overseas coach IMO

Kinda agree with that. Noble would sort us out and bring in some good players and probably do a fine job over 2 years.
The thing for me is what overseas coach? Do we try for someone proven or do we try for a young guy with potential (not unlike Agar) like Mcguire or Brown?

So do we take a chance on someone like Dymock or Taylor? Could end up the same as Agar?

Agreed, this proven world class coach stuff is getting tedious as it won't happen, we need to find an up and coming coach from Aus with the emphasis being on certain qualities rather then simply experience or past success (would help though) my only concern would be the ability of the decision makers at the club to identify such a person after the Agar farce, and then if we did find the right man would we be an attractive proposition for someone who is possibly in line for an NRL job in a couple of years.

| Quote Jake the Peg="Jake the Peg"I was in favour of noble but the more I think about it the more I think we need an overseas coach. There was obviously some reason that wigan got rid of him. If he'd got us to the verge of the GF 2 years in a row we'd have offered him a contract for life. wigan saw his deficiencies, got rid and won the GF within 12 months. For me, that shows a level of vision that our board simply don't have'"
So cheeky. You've been supporting the appointment of Noble all this time and as soon as it threatens to become a >20% possibility you're changing horses? Just laziness on the avatar front, surely? Overtype Agar in your wheelie bin with Noble. Naughty.

| I wouldn't be opposed trying a young guy with potential, so long as he's been working under some of the best coaches in the world for a considerable time. You won't get that in a British coach.

Correct mate and McGuire was only an understudy to Bellamy so both were risky appointments.

| Why have Long/Fitz till the end of the season? We would be better promoting Webster till the end of the season and look for a quality replacement in the meantime.
