Quote: Kosh "Correct.

Probably ill-advised to do so mind, and his delivery needs work. He's also still missing the point that it's not so much three losses as the performances that are the issue.'"

Yep, the evidence on the pitch says it all, although he is not the most media savvy to say the least, I think too much is made of his interviews and the way he comes across generally, you don't need to talk a good game to be a successful coach, sadly Agar is not a successful coach either but that's what I take issue with, not what he says after the game. He had a point in what he was saying, but the fact is we should be improving on an average season last year, not clinging onto it.

That's the point I've tried to make a few times though, the two things aren't mutually exclusive.

If someone comes across as a bit thick but they are really good at what they do, then you say 'you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover'. But if someone comes across across as a bit thick and does their job pretty badly too, then isn't it fair enough to say 'maybe they're just a bit thick'?

Leeds play Bradford but then get an extra day's turnaround as they play on Thursday, then play Crusaders and Catalans on the Monday respectively. true but at least you were at home 3 days later last year we had the long trip to london so even less recovery time after the derby. Looks like the rfl have just reversed the fixtures from easter this year which is fair enough

Are you related to Lee Radford? icon_lol.gif

Seriously, you're saying away at the team that finished 13th is as difficult as a home game to the team that finished 3rd and won back to back cups? Jog on. icon_lol.gif

Makes no difference when we play at wire as we'd lose anyway

I actually don't think Agar is thick, he seems to have an open mind and is definetely very knowledgeable about certain aspects of the game, that's maybe why he seems genuinely respected by many in the game, which makes it all the more baffling that he continuously gets it so wrong on the field without learning his lessons after three years of failing spectaculously with his tactics, negative approach, failing to sort out our dire kicking game, lack of a second phase and the complete hash he makes of the interchanges.

of course not but I was merely stating that having to travel to london 2 days after the derby and losing a days recovery of already such a short recovery time after a gruelling derby was hardly the big gift from the rugby league's fixture "computer" that you was making it out to be and incidently we beat Warrington at home last year so they were not the scariest of fixtures we faced. I'd agree we've done much better out of it than you this year though icon_smile.gif

I made the point about the Easter fixtures last year and it really stirred up our red and white friends. Their trip to Harlequins was almost a bye - they were a cricket score up at h-time. After the derby game, you don't want a top 2 or 3 club full stop, doesnt matter where it is. I don't believe there's any conspiracy here but we have by far the hardest Easter fixtures again.

As for Agar maybe making a fair/valid point - I simply don't buy that theory. I have never heard any coach/manager in RL or football cite a loss is easier to take because that's what our corresponding fixture the previous year yielded. He's spouting embarrassing drivel.

To be fair to Agar, that's not what he meant. His point was that we lost the corresponding fixtures last year but still finished 6th, meaning that it's a long season and losing the same fixtures this year doesn't necessarily mean that our season is down the pan.

It's not a view I agree with and I think it was a mistake to bring it up, but it's not quite the lame excuse some have read it as.

His comments would suggest he will be happy with 6th then and is not looking for an improvement ?

I'd say his comments suggest he's aiming at the playoffs and not a specific position in them at this stage. Hence why I don't agree with his point.

I personally think we've got the worst end of the deal, you've got warrington, we've got the league leaders.. icon_biggrin.gif
