Delighted at this signing. We desperately needed more senior cover and Phelps ticks all the boxes. He's familiar with SL, has lived here for some time and is good cover for a number of positions. Pity we couldn't have moved a bit earlier but all being well we have plugged a gap in our strength in depth. one year suggests it's good for our medium term squad plans to boot, although if he shines I'm sure we could look to extend going forward.

In light of developments with Tansey I think it was an absolute no brainer we signed Phelps. We clearly saw him as a last resort.
It's a start but we still need at least two more additions IMO.
Visa I here?! Please no....we all remember what happened with Crocker.....

feck me - two? Some will never be satisfied? One more will be enough. And, although no-one meant Phelps when they mentioned big signings, he is certainly no mug. This is a good, fast professional response to the difficult spot that Tansey put the club in. Hats off to the board I say. |
