I thought journeyman was a tag much like "model pro", "good trainer" and so on which means that they're solid & steady without ripping any trees up. Or breaking tackles for that matter

| I thought the term journeyman could be used to describe both a player who moved from club to club or a player of everyday kind of quality who pulls up no trees. I even got a dictionary definition which would appear to confirm my suspicions that the term can be applied in the way I used it, see example 2.
jour·ney·man   /ˈdʒɜrnimən/ Show Spelled[jur-nee-muhn Show IPA
–noun, plural -men.
1. a person who has served an apprenticeship at a trade or handicraft and is certified to work at it assisting or under another person.
2. any experienced, competent but routine worker or performer.
3. a person hired to do work for another, usually for a day at a time.

| Dowes has had a poor second half to this season, in fact he's getting knocked backwards in the tackle quite severely these days. Maybe its a loss in form, maybe the game is now too fast for him or maybe the years are taking their toll. He's a long way behind O'Meley and Moa. Its a shame because he's one of the few FC players with a good injury record, and I've never heard anything bad about him off the field. If we've got someone better lined up, then good luck Ewan and thanks for Cardiff

| It's the International phonetic alphabet spelling I think; so people who use a different alphabet (so wouldn't recognise jur-nee-mun) can make the sound of the word.
The jur-nee-muhn is the pronouncing.
