As much as I don't want to play Berrigan in the halves, I see little other choice, other than throwing Niklas in at the deep end, at standoff, against the league leaders for his first full 80 game. Not really an option, is it?

I dont see why not. Its a game we dont expect to win anyway so you may as well give the kid a chance. You can hardly expect him to run the show but I'm sure he won't let anyone down.

Or alternatively he may be run ragged, have his confidence totally shattered and won't be able to be played again this season.

If he's made of the right stuff that won't happen.

Agreed. It's about how the situation is handled. If Agar puts him in there and says "go out and win it for us" (which of course he wouldn't), then he might be in a bit of bother. If it's explained to him that we're up against it anyway with injuries and suspensions, and that all he needs to do is what he did in the game he played earlier this season, then I don't see why it should adversely affect him in the longer term.

Ah yes but it will be 9 players when the 17 man squad is named

I'd love to see him played in his preffered position, I just don't want his confidence to take a knock.
