I feel the longer he plays at 1, till the end of 2012 id presume, he will iron out his deficiencies in his game then the move to 7 would be more improbable.

Id happily go into next season with Nicklas as Hornes back up.

Holdsworth's a decent player though, and his experience is more crucial to Salford at present I think. Also, most half backs are defensively suspect when they first emerge, he may yet improve that area of his game. The most important thing is whether or not he has the raw attributes necessary, the rest can potentially be taught. I'm not saying he's the real deal or anything, just worth keeping an eye on.

Richard Horne is the answer at 6 providing he can get fit imo.

I'd take Ratchford happily. Horne needs to prove himself for the rest of this season. He needs a run in the side to prove he has the ability and that he is not too injury prone for the salary that he currently commands.

No it's permanent. As long as Horne stays he will have a chunk not count on the cap. I believe there is a max limit though so you cant benefit massively from having 5 long servants for example.
