| Quote UllFC="UllFC"Can't say I'm massively fussed about keeping him, he hasn't been in top form for ages

To be fair to Yeaman I think alot has to do with the coaches he has played under. Put him in a side with a good coach and I do think he would be a totally different player. Think he is another player that has the ability to be a real top player but wont fulfil it at this club sadly unless we get quailty coahing set up.
Plus from a young age he has been the most senior centre since Sid Domic left as we ever replace the likes of Barnett Snr, Sid Domic, Eager who all seemed to help Yeaman with his development as they were all decent experienced centres just a shame we saw them at the back end of their careers.
It would be a big loss to Hull FC if he went but to be honest who could blame him for leavin if he did currently

| I seem to be in a minority that think Yeaman is a very good centre. Defensively possibly the best in world rugby - his international appearances saw him dominate Australian superstars. This season I have really enjoyed his performances and feel he would be a massive loss if he left. As for too slow...... Leon Price couldnt catch him

I think he has the ability to be superb; but whe was the last time he consistently performed toa world class standard for us? It's sad to see a local lad with talent be dragged down by our mediocrity. I'm warming to the idea of him at Leeds; let him fulfill his potential!

| It's his testimonial next year as he debut was in 2001.
Can't see any other club matching his salary and compensating the loss of his testimonial.

| Isn't the idea of a testimonial outdated nowadays? If Radford gets another deal isn't he due for one next year?

| Talking of players possibly going to Leeds, I heard a rumour about Whiting going there. Probably but there you go

The idea isn't, just ask Horne, Diskin, Wellens or Crabtree.
Players can apply for one after 300 first team games regardless of appearances for a single club, IIRC.

By outdated I mean it is from another era; where players had day jobs and played for boot money ona weekend; where the testimonial was a way of saying thanks and giving them some cash to ease them into being without their supplementary income. Seems an anachronism in these days of well paid professional players.

I understand that but a 12 month series of events topped off by a testimonial game is still a very nice money spinner. Whether players should still be awarded them is another matter of course.
