If we're in the top 6 by July/August and consistently playing well I'd give him a 12 month extension. I don't think the squad we have is good enough to win anything unless we have a big dollop of luck, but should be better that 7th or 8th. Would be unfair even on agar to suggest he has to win something to survive, however as has already been said, he also has a massive amount to do to prove himself.

Anything more than 12 months, no matter how well we do, would be a poor decision IMO.

I'd still rather see a proven performer in the job, which would mean an aussie. I hope it's the last time the club ever appoint someone unproven into the head coach position

Kear won us a trophy and Sharp took us to a G/Final and play-offs and they was both booted out.

Agar took us to Wembley and 2 shocking league placings and kept his job.....he has got bugger all to fear this season then...lol

If we finish below 6th he's failed. Sack him.

And if agar wants to garner public support he should get himself on here and not get his buddy to do it for him

If we continue on the field like we have been (commitment etc) i am happy for him to stay. Injuries however can kill any teams season and you cannot blame a coach for that.

Nice to win trophies but only 2 (3 if you count league leaders) trophies are up for grabs and 14 teams playing for them (i know more in CC but no team outside of SL will win the CC nowadays) it comes down to luck at times in cup games and play-off games.

Take Leeds last year in the GF that game could easily have been a win for Saints and play those semi finals again and you could easily have had two different teams in the CC final.

Jury still out on Agar and he has a lot of people to win over, but at the moment he is going in the right direction. The club could work out a prelim contract with Agar on the premise that certain things happen.

Why would it need to be though Wolfie. As the saying goes 1 person is not bigger than the club and i think Agar would not be the type of person to go running to another job if we had a successful season and had not sorted his contract out.
