Us v NZ in 2002?

That's what I thought, I see no reason why Australia would want to play us at the KC in all fairness.

The 2015 4 Nations is in the UK/France that year, but will we want to play a game so soon after winning the Grand Final?

Well, its a friendly and teams usually consider those a benefit, both on the field and from a business point of view (especially if the KC sold out). While unlikely, doesn't sound out of the question to me.

What friendlies did Autralia and NZ play prior to this years 4 nations?

The Kiwis played Tonga before coming over and the Aussies have a Presidents Select team for players who's clubs season finishes pre play offs or early rounds. I think they played PNG.

Fair point. Well, as Chris menition there was out leaving the Boulevard in 2002 against NZ so there is precedent for such games on special occasions, such as been 150 years old.

That all said, I still don't regard it as very likely...

I don't disagree that it would be a cracking event, I just cannot see it happening.

That may well be but weve still won more playoff games then you been to more grand finals then you and won just as many challenge cups

It's a nice idea, obviously it depends where that year's Quad Nations is being held.

I would hope the club would have a year long celebration, after all we are one of the oldest professional football clubs in the world.

It is in England as I have stated.

The term is Sesquicentennial. Somehow can't see a good old Hessle Roader getting the tongue round that one.
If not an international side we could always play the Aussie champions in the warm up game for the World Challenge. But that would mean playing them twice in two weeks !!!!!
Little early yet but does not want leaving until 2014 or it will be to late to organise a meaningful event.
