Given that the Mail story has many warm tributes to Ronnie Wileman including a few from his family I think TLJ has made an error of judgement here. I'm all for banter but this is wrong, IMO.

He has edited it Danny, hello !!!!!, to be honest it is a cheap dig at us, really a nice tribute would have been more apt for one of your players as a mark of respect, however if the HDM are stupid enough to fall for it , it's their problem, Mullan & Smailes are a couple of dimwits anyhow.

As For what TLJ did well, anyone who knew Ronnie would know how much he would love it and he would hav also love the fact that the Mail will have very red faces indeed, especially when some one reports them to the press complaints commission! I am with Hutchie here, 100%, (don't say that too often ) although perhaps 'Another Mail exclusive showing Ronnie making a fool of the Dobbns' would have been more fitting! But would have certainly have lacked the impact

All those guys from back in the day, no matter which team they played for hated the other lot from the other side of the river. One of my favourite moments was a couple of years ago when I worked at the HKR 25th anniversary of the 80 final dinner. Roger Millward got up to say a few words using my PA system and in front of the whole room called me a Black and White bas*ard. It was banter and I loved it. That's all it is, banter. I'm sure Ron would have had a chuckle at the link.
