| My view on Moa : I like (no I love) his enthusiasm for the crowd and apparent love for the shirt - which may stand out now, because we are so desparate to see that attitude with it being absent elsewhere. As a player, he makes an impact in a very poor team. Does not mean he's a world beater. I also was VERY dissapointed at how long it took him to get fit when he arrived. HOWEVER : Would I sign him. If we had the cash and he was a non-quota player, YES. But he is a Quota Player, and so he has to be special. For the reason's above, I'm not sure he would be special in a performing side, and I want a performing side more than I want Moa to stand-out. So, if we could sign a Jamie Lyon or someone, NO, I would not sign him. But I WOULD keep him over CUSACK anyday - so for me, if the club (and therefore AGAR I guess) don;t keep him in preference to another quota player, then go on the PR offensive saying he's a great club-man but we needed to sign the other guy - my answer would be WHY oh WHY did you jump so QUICKLY to sign Cusack.

Because before he got injured, he was arguably our best forward?

I also get the impression Cusack staying played a big part in Fitzgibbon signing.

I can see the argument with Moa's recent form looking so good but I also think Cusack is a good prop. Is Moa looking so good because we have had such a poor season and his pride in the shirt stands out like a sore thumb?
A Dowes/O'Meley and Cusack/Moa prop rotation would not let us down but as mentionned elsewhere if a quality overseas stand off became available I think we need that more. A Jamie Lyon type player who can play a couple of back positions to a very high standard may become available in the off season so do we gamble and wait on this type of player or snap up Moa now?

He has played well of late, when it has mattered. At the beginning of the season however, he dropped balls, didn't make a lot of impact, and played about 5 minutes before being knackered.
A definate improvement has been made, and if we were to offer a contract I think a one year, prove yourself iniciative would be the best. However, with the injury to Long, and Horne's difficulties, a halfback may be the better option otherwise we would be back to square one. Maybe we should sign Thorman up as cover?

I have no worries about Long. He reads and dictates the game exceptionally well but he will need support and the form of Horne is quite a concern for me at the mo. I dont think keeping Thorman is even an option after the year he has had and all thats gone the best thing for both parties is to move on.
I would like us to highlight a scrum half future replacement for Long though who can work alongside him for a couple of years with the first team number 7 jersey the ultimate aim. Whether we have an academy player who could do this or maybe bring a young Championship player similar to Gale at Quins or McNally at Giants I dont know but we need to be planning longer term.

There's probably something in that, but is that right ? I'll sign if you sign my mate ? Are we happy with that ? I recall he came having spoke to Rich Agar and being impressed with what he said - are you suggesting what Richard said was "yes Mr Fitzgibbon, if you sign, we'll sign your mate" ?
