| The only reasons to appoint Noble would be that he's available and better than Agar. He's not delivered much at Wigan and made some poor/average overseas signings. He's got a poor record on retaining local talent. The playing style he adopts is somewhat outdated. He's got previous with 2 of our senior players for next season.
The next coaching appointment is vital. Personally I'd be looking in Aus and getting the chequebook out. We are not even also-rans in the competition now but established as the worst non-promoted team. A 33-year-old scrum half and a couple of new forwards are not going to magically transform us into play-off contenders.
I am more pi$$ed off this morning than last night. Looking at what was on offer last night was a clear picture of the consequences of a coach out of his depth.
Injuries aside (although there must be a question as to why we get so many more than other teams)
Calderwood out, despite being our POTY and still looking our keenest player in the warm-up
Briscoe back in and not ready
Yeaman back in and not ready
Thackray not mentioned
Thorman sat on the sidelines with confidence destroyed
Tansey moved out of position to 6 to avoid the scenario of our cleverest footballer being played in a creative position.
Money spent on Cordoba who makes mistake after mistake but
Maloney being cast aside.
Radford, re-signed under Agar, making no impression
Berrigan, playing with injections, a world class hooker playing out of position for months to address the recruitment mistake of Thorman
I could go on but you get the idea.
I don't think Noble's the answer but I KNOW Agar isn't.

But that doesn't make him a bad coach. I'd take him in a heartbeat, he'd be a class above anyone we've had coaching this club for a decade or more.

Thorman (not good enough confidence or no confidence) and Maloney (who cant make training) aside I agree with all of your points. Noble would not be my first choice and we need to do better than him but if we cant we need to do something.

| Some Hull fans are naive at least
Noble only won things when he was spending £500,000 over the Cap.
Check his record on winning when Bulls were legal on wages !!!!
Even at Wigan he was involved in the most outrageous fiddle with Fielden and they barely escaped relegation.
NO NO NO NO
An Australian - Bellamy/Stuart/ Hasler for eg

Good post Mrs B, agree with all what you said, Maloney is for a reason though and rightly so

| Problem on the coaching front is that no decent coach will come in and work within the constraints agar is happy to. The board need to get someone in and give them cart blanche (did you see the french connection there?) to change what they want to from methods, through staff, disciplinary procedures, training and development of young players, etc etc.
It's what hudds have done with brown and it's paying massive dividends. Won't happen at Hull though and one of the main reasons mcrae left

The only naivity I can see on here is by those believing that any of the above named coaches would come anywhere near this outfit. If it's an Australian you want I here Rolf Harris ain't got much on at the moment.

| Quote CHEWIE7="CHEWIE7"Thats like saying 'Better the Devil we DON'T know' is it not?
Noble has NEVER liked Hull, that was apparent for all to see when he was in charge of GB......He only picked Rich Horne out of peer pressure.....then stuck him on the wing with Senior (who was having a bad season) as his Centre.....Thus making him look average. Other than that....He never liked picking FC players. I actually found myself cheering for the Kiwis at the Test at the KC

That wasnt Noble....that was Waite.
