Whoever it is needs to be able to command the respect of the players to the point were he can give them a b0ll0cking and they will actually listen.

regarding the 4 trys and not a word from Radders....compare that to what kevin sinfield does at leeds - his leadership and his orders coupled with the respect he has from his team is easy to see. that is what i think a hull fc captain should be doing

Radford is not a captain. Give it to Fitzgibbon, Long should not be burdened with any responsibilities such as kicker or being captain, just let him play.

Like, probably not. Respect, I certainly do. He might moan a bit, but IMO he rarely oversteps the mark and looks after his team's best interests exactly how a captain should. Consider at Craven Park this year. Leeds were pinged a lot by the ref early doors and Rovers weren't. He calmly spoke to the ref about it not being the same for both sides. He didn't lose his rag and get into trouble, just made his point. It seemed noticeable after that that the ref did even things up a bit and they won the game, even coming out tops when there was a contentious 'try' sent to the video ref which a lot of refs would have given to the home team on the spot.

I personally think he's about as a good a role model for younger players as we have in this country.

He's not a fraction of the loose forward Radford is though.
