| I understand Agar's think ing about a thrid halfback, with what happened in recent years he wants to protect us in that area. However we have Washy who can play 6, Berro who can play 7 and Whiting who can step in at 6 and maybe even Lee.
So on that basis I hope Thorman leaves.

| Thorman would be an expensive reserve half back (i would have thought). Agar is maybe playing mind games here stating that if Thorman produces the goods there is still a chance of a new contract.
If i was the coach i'd say something like that (but meaning the total opposite!)...a bit like a smiling assassin i suppose!

There would have to be a turnaround in Thorman's form equivalent to Jesus's raising of Lazarus for us to keep him - the biblical Lazarus not Glenn or Blake. Anyway, we know that's impossible because Long is the saviour, not Agar.

The fact that he is dog turd and shows no iterest or desire to be on a rugby pitch is the basis that should see Thorman leave.
Our depth in the backs should not come into it as the simple fact is that Thorman is not good enough.

| We now have enough cover at HB to let Thorman go. It would be madness to waste salary cap space on him at the expense of spending it on a better quality player coming in. Whether we like it or not Thorman is here until the end of the season and Agar needs to find a way to get the best out of him in that time so his comments shouldn't be taken as an indication Thorman will stay IMO.

| I would have thought with still half a season to go some of you would be routeing for Thorman to 'step up' and put a few performances together. He WAS a pretty good player a few years ago, is pretty versatile in that he has played a lot of games at FB and IF he can find a bit of confidence then would be a good squad member.
Lets face it, no one can say he didn't have a mare of the biggest kind in the Leeds game but I'm sure he knows it a much as anyone, and to be honest you never looked much better when he went off, so could it maybe that as a HB he isn't getting enough protection, field position, runners etc and even the best HB in the world would have struggled to do anything about it.
I have no vested interest in Thorman playing better but I've seen it at our club when a player becomes the pantomime villain and no matter how much good stuff he does it will always have negative spin put on it.
I just get the feeling a lot of your fans would prefer Thorman to play badly just to say I told you so.....

I am hoping it is not just Thorman who goes out with a point to prove for the rest of the season! Our recruitment shows that a few players may be playing for their futures and anybody in a comfort zone needs to wake up and smell the coffee!

Thorman's performance against Leeds was only marginly worse than what he has been producing for the last 9 or 10 games imo. Nobody wanted him to come here and fail and the vast majority of fans have given him plenty of time to show what he is capable off. Unfortunately, after just half a season he has proved to me, many other fans and hopefully Rich Agar that he can't cut the mustard and needs to go.
A few good performances from him would only paper over the cracks imo.
