sadly this is so true. wish hew could become mentally tougher to take the pressure. his attacking running is tremendous but his frailties withouth the ball let him down big time

Totally agree with that Jake.
Poor man management by Agar. What must Craig be thinking when Agar states that 'we are short of backs'. His confidence must be in tatters when a loan player is selected for the squad and he his dropped to the reserves.

We are short of backs though. We had a squad imbalanced in favour of forwards before the season started and no recognised right centre. Add to that the fact we've been without Tony, Raynor and Byrne all season and then lost Briscoe - that means we are short of backs. Unfortunately for Craig, he's been poor when having to fill in at FB this season. On current first team form, there's little to choose between him and Broughton. It would make more sense to play Hall from a long term point of view, but if his confidence is so low, maybe Broughton's the better option right now.
Hall's problem is that his weaknesses are over-exposed because of the lack of quality available to us (either because it's not in the squad anyway or it's on the treatment table) to compensate. He's not got a "safe" environment to develop the defensive and pass selection aspects of his game that he needs if he's going to be a SL centre. Added to that we do not have the capability to utilise his undoubted attacking ability. The lack of backs should be an opportunity for Craig to grab a first team spot in the same way that Burnett has done, but his performances at FB have not warranted his inclusion. The problem is that he's not a rookie any more - he has 42 SL games under his belt - what's the plan for him to get back in the first team?

| If I was craig hall and the coach played a Leeds academy loanee instead of me I would be seriously considering my options. Of course there is the possibility craig has asked to be left out for a while. If that was the case if I was agar I'd be considering my options with him. He should of been loaned out to an nl1 team not put in the reserves.

The truth is that his first few games at FB he did well enough, we even had a thread for him about it being his new position. He froze against rovers and never recovered. He has been a victim of the teams poor form and injuries. I would of just stuck him at right centre and told him to play himself into form. But now that whiting is back I don't see a place for him. Unless whiting is moved to 13 but that doesn't fit into our game plan and why would you move whiting????

| Whiting to 6, Hall at centre, leave Horney at full back. Motu on the bench to cover arrangements.
