| Well done on the win it's always good to nil opponents on their own patch, to be fair we weren't up to much but you still had far too much in every department .
Good turnout from you lot but nowhere near the 4000 that's been claimed, the capacity of the stand was just over 3000 and you didn't fill it I reckon 2500 ish good effort though

| Quote: A unknown superstar "Performance was fantastic and brutal for the 80. Must have been 4,000 fans Hull fans there today and a brilliant atmosphere created by us. Minichiello loved the crowd after the game.'"
That stand only holds 4000 in total, and both ends were covered up. There were just over 2000 in my estimation, but a great away following all the same. And when there was a sniff of a win they ramped up the sound, I just wish we could take the same size away following.

| The Pink stand holds over 4000 and is divided into 6 sections. The two end sections which are the smallest (being the ends of the curvature) were covered (why?). The four middle and largest sections were full (see Mrs Barista's uplifting photo on the earlier page). There were at least 2500 Hull fans and more probably nearer 3000 in that stand alone, not counting those in other stands.
Hudds have apparently sold about 4000 season tickets so 3000 sounds about right of the declared attendance.
I like Hudds a lot and I'm sorry it seems so difficult to get the volumes you deserve. Really can't understand it tbh.

| In reply to WormInHand the people of Huddersfield just aren't interested in watching the giants.. We have tried everything as a club,as fans to get people to come but the interest isn't there..it doesn't help either when the local paper dedicates most sports column inches to Huddersfield town and premier league football the giants get a short match report and a few quotes whereas the football team gets a whole 10page centre page spread!
Also we lost generations of fans when we were crap and its those lost generations we struggle to attract now
In most places that host super league the game is bred into people and passed down from generation to generation in hull especially it's ingrained into most families cultures in Huddersfield there is no such thing it simply isn't a rugby town

Yet we have similar in Hull with our own paper, very bias to the football club, 8 pages or more of nothing yet the two rugby clubs get 2 each yet more action.

| Quote: threepennystander "Will pearson think all those friendlys was worth it now.commentary said giants looked very rusty and we looked that bit sharper.nilling team like giants away was worth a worthless derby loss and 2nd string hammering at wakefield for me.well done lads'"
I thought that, too. Was going to ask those who went if they really did look as rusty as the commentary kept saying.
N.B. That's not to try and suggest that's why we won. A comfortable nilling does not just happen because of a bit of rustiness. I just personally do think friendlies serve a purpose, and find it a little amusing if Hudds really did look quite sloppy today given that they were the example held up by Pearson as some sort of proof that friendlies were a waste of time.

| Been a long time since we were top of the shop, but have to laugh at the need to argue about whether we took 2, 3, or 4 thousand on a 150 mile round trip.

| How did they get that figure? Not all Hull fans were on the end. I was sat amongst the Huddersfield pass holders since I prefer a side view, or I was until about 15 mins from the end when they showed they had picked up a least one maneuvre from Wigan.
To be fair the Huddersfield fans were generous and friendly, obviously disappointed with their own teams efforts but acknowledging Hull played well.

sounds about right.
regards our 5300 or so there yesterday and not being able to attract big crowds, we have come along way since the 90s when we were playing infront of just 100's, not many clubs can show that growth in a short time.
we have lost generations of fans during that time to the football club etc and the terrible years finishing bottom of the league and being whipping boys didnt help.
will have been a fair few newbies yesterday but after what we dished up wont return , very fickle some fans!
