| Quote: Mild mannered Janitor "It seems to be a common trend to slate the winger who is not from Hull (backlock, Sing, Calderwood...) by those who clearly have no idea how the game is played.
Sharp clearly is not without fault and yes he makes errors in most games. But he also does a fair amount of work which some choose to ignore.
]FWIW, The reason Huddersfield beat us was our inability to pass (Obst and Westerman were key offenders with notables efforts from Gleeson), our inability to catch (Gleeson, tickle, dowes, Yeaman, Briscoe and Sharp. Not forgetting Turner who had the easiest of all to take which actually would have put us in front) and the fact that Hudds have a player who has the best kicking game, has a good passing game and is also very nippy who in our wisdom we released because we had a weak coach at the time.[/b]
Of course some will simply blame Will Sharp.
Old Faithful
Very true. Add to that a lack of pace in the middle and at times tactical naivety that school kids would be embarrassed by and it is clear why we are fighting for 8th spot. After watching the game on Sky it was clear that Sharp was no worse than the rest of our right side though at the game he looked to have had a nightmare. I don't think he's good enough regardless of that but what's worse is our inability to fix that right side up regardless of who plays there.

| what i don't get is, when sharp comes inside to close gap between wing and centre, sharp gets blamed, also, when he stays on his wing he gets blamed.
quick to jump on his back when makes a mistake, but then when he took a few high bombs well, takes a tricky ball in his own in-goal and works hard in offence, they don't/won't praise him!!!!
alot of Hull fans annoying me at the moment, not putting their brains into gear befoe speaking.

| We should just keep behind Sharpy, he's only young and he needs our support. We brought him here because he was outstanding at Quins. His development can be severely effected by the crowd reacting in the wrong way.
We are quite good at jeering a player when they've had a bad run and so draining their confidence, when really they need to know we are with them. Just Ask Motu Tony! If a player of international standing can lose his game confidence, then so can a young lad new to the club. So lets make him, not ruin him.
As long as he wears black and white he gets my support, if he's not delivering then the coach will deal with it.

[quote="The Reason":3e09qe5x]Hi Andy
The Rugby Football League are in the process of reviewing the video that you are referring to. We do not condone behaviour of this nature and have contacted the player’s employer, Hull F.C., who have confirmed that they are dealing with the incident under their club rules.

People are having a go about Sharp on here because theyve had time to think about the game. I never heard anyone actually slagging him off at the game though.

Careful Kosh, this could turn into a "We failed to sign Dobson" scenario.

What he said.
I thought that Sharp was no worse than several other players, and at the moment he seems to be receiving an unfair amount of criticism.

There was plenty near us.
I do think we, as fans do not help a lot of players, by the negativity we give out, if they are having a poor game. We are supposed to be 'supporters' after all.

Well said, though I admit I made an exception in Thorman`s case.

I dont think he was outstanding at Quins, he was making the same mistakes there as he is now.
For what its worth, I think the high bomb to the corners is a tactic that pays off alot. There are not many wingers in the world you feel 100% confident about coming down with the ball under alot of pressure from the chasers.

So we had a strong coach??
I am not buying that. Peter Sharp may well have been a disciplinarian, but his man management skills were clearly at fault to allow a talent like Brough to leave. He may not have been the polished article in 2006 he is right now, but all the skills were ready to be honed.
Peter Sharp was hindered by an appauling injury record but his tactics we are still seeing he legacy of to this day.
