I make it 3, we lost to Cas, Wakey and Catalans and drew to Saints so thats 7 points dropped.

But we also beat Wire and Salford so thats 4 gained.

I'd not taken included salford, my mistake. the point stands that the odd isolated win is meaningless unless we start to show some consistency and the ability to win the big games

Well, the consistency has been there for 5 games 3 of which, Saints, Wire, and Them you could label as big?

We're getting better definitely, but 3 points from a possible 10 against the teams who finished above us last season isn't much of an indication of anything yet.

Whilst the derby may be an important game to the fans, rovers are absolutely dire this year and haven't picked up a point away since they beat us in cardiff so it was a game we should have expected to win

As bad cas were, it's frightening to think that wire are capable of doing to another SL team pretty much what we did to oldham last week

Out of interest, when would you class us playing consistently well? Win the next 1? 2? 3?

Although not surprising when you look at the quality they have in every position. The only problem they might face is that a fair few of their first team are getting towards the end of their careers and they may have to replace a large number of quality players all at once.

Winning 60-70% of our games each season, regularly winning games against wire, saints, leeds, wigan and hudds, scoring 50+ points 3 or 4 times a season. Not building up big leads then throwing them away, putting games to bed when we have the opportunity, winning play off games and cup games against good opposition.

How about you tom or are you content with one win at wire in 6 years and a derby victory?

I was thinking more of "same season" consistency, a la 2006 - you're talking about year on year consistency, then.

Fair do's, but we can only start afresh as we mean to go on. I'd go with same season consistency for now and take a 2006-esque run, and worry about next season later.

We all would and I hope we have turned a corner but we're a long way from proving it currently
