| Think all Hull fans would agree, if he finds his Leeds form he will be a good signing, if he doesnt improve on the last year or two he wont be. Pretty black and white to me.

A bit like Fitzhenry but without the Aussie passport.
Not overjoyed with this signing as not thinkwe really need a winger for next season, think we could have used this money more effectivly in other areas.
However I will back Mark from now on, as a winger a solid English signing, will bring a bit of pace to the backs.

| One thing we must do is use Calderwood effectively like Leeds need.
Kick to him for him to chase, a number of times at Leeds Calderwood forced dropouts or mistakes from chasing a kick.
Quick tap on the 20.

| A sensible signing IMO. If he winds up the opposition fans as much as he wound up our fans, I'm sure he'll be a success!

| Some people on here are impossible to please. If we'd gone for a big burly winger they'd be saying that it was pace we needed not bulk. If we'd gone big bucks and used a quota they'd be saying it was a waste on money. I never liked him when he was at Leeds, but the main reason for that was he always seemed to score tries against us at the worst possible time in the game and had that arrogance and confidence that ALL wingers need, admitedly some of that has been eroded at Wigan but he isn't the first and he won't be the last to go there and dip off in form.
If in his first few games he can score a couple of decent tries and wind the opposition up as much as he used to us then everyone will be creaming their pants, just give the bloke a chance before you start slagging him off. He's a confidence player first and foremost so his own supporters bagging him before he's even put a shirt on his back is hardly gonna help is it?

| I think it is a good signing - don't get me wrong i can't sorry couldn't stand Calderwood, always thought he was an annoying t***, that said i welome him with open arms
Seriously though he is at a good age with some more rugby years in him, he has experience, pace (yes he still has it), he won't be one of the top earners, he is British and we needed a specialist winger (Byrne/ Briscoe not wingers) - a good bit of recruitment in my opinion.

| The only positive I can see with you signing Calderwood is that you're not using up a quota spot on a winger.
He's been pretty poor recently and with no service to your wingers anyway I can't see him getting any better. You have to wonder what's drawn Agar's attention to him in the first place. Is it the 2 tries he's scored this year, his ex-international status or the fact that he's out of contract and available?

More than likely because we need a winger to replace Sing who is off qouta....no one (IMO) fits that bill better than Calderwood who is out of contract. Add to that that his try scoring record is good even at Wigan, almost one in two games ratio, we need pace and we he is at a good age (26) i cannot understand why people would suggest he isn't a good signing for the club
