what it does mean is that we dont need to recruit a centre.
A winger is what we need as well as a prop. Maybe a back rower depending what happens.

i would still like to see a centre and a winger brought in,even more so if and possibly hall and calderwood are released.sounds like shenton is following the distinct smell of £££ so we can forget him.there aren't that many about tho' so i suppose kevin penny for calders could be an option(needs to improve his defence i admit, but hasn't played much 1st team grade lately).he has pace to burn, and the sight of 2 quick wingers on our flanks could look promising in an attacking sense.the centre position could be a problem,as i dont think whiting and turner are long term options.

I believe we are currently looking at/speaking to a winger, a centre, a prop and a backrower. Time will tell.

Dont worry about the backrow and sign a back up halfback.
interesting with no quota spots looking available who the players we are talking too, there are few wingers, props and backrows out there, but cant see any centres off quota that a better than we have.
Maybe Shenton, but I arent overly impressed with him, think he is overated.

I'd rather play and develop Reece Lyne than bringing in Penny.

Agreed don't see what people see in him, has looked distinctly average when I've seen him play.

Don't think we are interested in Shenton, I have always rated him but he has not had a good season. Think he will end up at Wigan or Saints.

it does actually look that way.maybe give calders a 1 year deal in the process?maybe on same sort of terms(not an international now,so cant expect too much money?).centre position is the one we may struggle with.

I really think we're fine in the centres. I'd be more concerned about quality cover for 6 and 7 if we get injuries to Horne and Long.
Maybe if we bring a winger in they could play full back to cover Tansey moving to 7 in the absence of Long.

If we bring in a centre then Whiting could also cover fullback for Tansey if need be.

I disagree, we only have one quality established centre, Yeamo, with Turner developing (nicely)...unless you mean we will use Berro in the centre?
Whiting is a top class utility player and should be used for that role.
I would like to sign another top class defender (sorry centre )

| turner's coming on leaps and bounds at centre now that we have finally decided he isn't a stand off. he's bulking up a bit too and we could have a pretty good centre on our hands given time
