| Quote: giddyupoldfella "He's won nothing yet. Radford put silverware in the cabinet and ended the Rovers fans favourite song.'"
Very true.
He's also not had our biggest SL defeat yet or longest losing streak either.
Pundits and fans alike mention how different our team is this season.
Players mention how it's different and fun now.
Yes it's early days but there's definitely green shoots emerging.
Sorry Lee but even you must see it.
I'm not sure what relevance your comment has to this game or is it you'd rather have Radford over Hodgson?
I'm merely mentioning the difference in our team this season and enjoying the performance in our 1st two games.

| Big credit must go to Purtill and Ellis too, probably finally allowed a big input.
Full team brilliant again, couple of little hiccups but nothing to get nit picky about, same as last week.
Earn the shirt, I think Fash earned his bench spot after today, and Johnstones going to have a battle to get back in as is Faraimo. Which is how it should be.
If we can keep the intensity up and keep, Sneyd, Connor and Reynolds firing I think we're in for a good season. Mention to Houghton too il take it back about releasing him as he's playing fab, good to see Hodgson seems to of got his head right.

| Great performance defense has improved loads and our attack looks dangerous from all over but the jury is out until we play the top teams for me
Huddersfield like last season are awful without sezer
And Salford struggled last season in the league and are weaker this time around aswell
Cause remember folks our record was good against the lesser sides last season it was terrible against the top sides
So don't go over board just yet

| Who knows what will happen in the months to come or indeed next week at Featherstone, but I have to say that I can't remember when I have been so comfortable watching Hull FC. There is so much control and structure to our play, no headless chickens, even when we are disrupted by injuries and everyone playing as one and enjoying themselves.

That’s very true no one knows what will happen moving on to round 3 and beyond. What is pleasing for me from the first two rounds is that an awful lot of the little things that for so many seasons just haven’t been rectified are showing strong signs whilst still work in progress.
In seasons before when we lost a player to injury we tended to fold and look completely lost yet today we lost Reynolds, Sneyd and Sao yet managed to not only re adjust week and quickly but still keep up the intensity. That alone shows we seem to have a totally different mind set and willingness to dig in and work for each other. That is something we have lacked going back to when Peter Sharp left.
I think BH is a very astute coach who spends time on the little details that make such a difference. Not only that but his man management is so refreshing and it shows with the players that they believe in him and methods.
Probably for the cup game leave Reynolds, Sneyd and Sao out and bring in some of the Fringe players. Hopefully Brown & Bowden both fit for the cup game and bring in McNamara.
Everyone’s raving about St’s yet they’ve not really played anyone yet either but happy for us to go under the radar. As a comparison we put 35pts past Salford and only let in 4 compared to St’s 29 for and 6 against.
Certainly a bright future ahead and I’m sure many fans will be like me and actually looking forward to the games ahead rather than the feeling of dread.
There will no doubt be some lows as the season goes on but I don’t anyone can argue with the huge improvement we’ve seen already.

| I didn't get to see the whole game, but from what I did see it looked like another really accomplished performance.
I know people will disagree with this but I'd look to rest a few next week. Yes we are only 2 games in, but the games are going to come thick and fast so any opportunity to rotate a little should be taken. Fev isn't a gimme, but we should still have far too much for them even without a few starters.
Fit or not I would leave out Reynolds and Sneyd, go with Wynne at fullback, Connor at 6 and McNamara at 7. Same with Sao, no point risking anything. Bowden should be fit to replace him. I'd also be thinking about giving Scott a chance to show what he can do with a full 80 minutes, and I'd be looking to get Johnstone some game time too. Not sure if Brown is fit yet? Even with those changes it's a strong 17. Then come out firing against Warrington.

Dont think we will see any of those three next week Chris especially Reynolds who has a hamstring injury.I said a couple of weeks ago that we would likely see Reynolds have a hamstring injury as its normal for pacey players who have not played regularly for months like we have just seen with Field at Wigan. Its good that he didnt mess about and came off as soon as it went.
In any case i think Hodgson would have used some fringe players next week.
Massive improvement in line speed and play the ball and good to see us using dummy runners that are in motion.I also like the way we are turning teams round with kicks in goal leading to a drop out something we hardly did last season.
Whilst i think Salford are a decent team it will be good to see how we cope with Warrington in a couple of weeks.

As we know the game isn’t played on paper.
Yes we did win the first two games last but comparing last season opening two games to this season there’s a big difference.
As for hype hype hype, I don’t think there is a lot of hype at all unlike previous seasons. People are commenting on what they’ve seen so far this season which is a total change to the same old same old of previous seasons. That’s not a fluke or just a lucky break it’s come from the work that BH assisted by KP and GE have put in along with the squad.
For me it’s the little things that have seemingly at long last been dealt with. How many seasons previously had we heard the coach say he’s tried to get the players to do certain things and that he’s at a loss as to why it’s not happening? That’s a big reason Radford was out as it was clear he could get anywhere close to the best from the squad he had. The same group of players under a different coach are a totally different looking team in effort, intensity, desire to work for each other the line speed in both attack and defence, the effort put in when we don’t have the ball and structure. But hey guess that’s nothing to pleased about or too see what?
So that’s not hype at all that clear cut evidence that things although early in the season have very much changed snd still will as the season progresses.

Was having a conversation with the father in law about all the little things, small details like we now have a tackler who goes low and halts they yards after impact, multiple dummy runners, running onto the ball at pace see cam Scott's try today. Lots and lots of little things that are sometimes the difference between scoring a try, the opposition scoring etc
The other thing we spoke about was as you've mentioned the mental attitude, under Radford towards the end, it seemed to me we had a split camp, and the players were finger pointing and nit picking with each other at times,as well as some throwing in the towel when referee decisions went against us or the errors stacked up. Last mentioned it whereas he told the players to start concentrating on making sure they got their own game right and not worrying about everyone else's jobs. Hodgson has also touched upon it saying to believe in the system as a whole and make sure each player gets their part correct.
Huge swing in mentality and attitude, long may it continue

| I'd be tempted to rest a couple and obviously not risk the others and go with something like this
Wynne
Faraimo
Carlos
Scott
Fonua
McNamara
Connor
Taylor
Johnstone
Bowden
Ma'u
Lane
Fash
Cator
Griffin
Brown
Satae

| Hodgson has said he'll not make changes for the sake of it and only based on who isn't avaiable.

I expected that, cant blame him, keep the run going and confidence
I do think Faraimo should play though.
