Had he come straight from playing then there would would be a higher probability of it paying off. The fact he hasn't played for nearly 2 years even for a player of Ingliss' prior quality will take a lot to get back to where he was before.'" I hope Inglis goes well over here as the guy clearly needs the structure of professional sport for his mental well being. He is a living legend too so it would be a shame if he was to go out looking past it and a shadow of his former self.

| Back to thread - I see us finishing 3rd and making one of the Finals. I would also really like the 2nd best defence in the League - not much eh?

| INOUT Quote: Mrs Barista "https
It was a good read and good to listen to Scott.
It sounds refreshing what Brett has brought to the team and gives you an insight of what the training and mindset was like previously if Brett is working more on defence, not setting goals and actually praising people.
I'm not making bold predictions this year, we're a team in transition but for me I want to see an improvement in our style of play and to reduce the difference in our best and worst performances.

Still think we are short of an experienced front row.
Brown is now our first reserve. No doubt has a bright future and probably will feature regularly off the bench, but cant see Fash getting much of a look in this year and Masi has to step up.I hope he does otherwise it will be his last season with the club

I think on his previous showings and performance against York, Brown has to be given more game time and is definitely in front of the others you have mentioned.

Look at the other squads in SL, who else has nags of experienced cover in any position? All teams are needing to rely on youngsters.
We have 4 proven, good quality props (Taylor, Satae, Sao, Bowden). 1 hugely talented youngster (Brown), and 2 unspectacular but "will do a job" ones in Fash and Masi. You can also put Savelio there if we are struggling. I don't think we are too bad at prop at all.

Its not the numbers but the impact they have when they play.
We only need two of the four proven props you mention to be injured and that leaves us very light on the bench when we need impact. and dont have the drop off we have seen,Thats why we need Masi to come good this season.

Saints - Walmsley, Lees, Paasi, Amor, LMS
Wigan - Singleton, Bullock, Partington, Clubb, Byrne, Mitch Clark
Warrington - Hill, Cooper, Philbin, Akauola, Kibula, Doro
Catalans - Dudson, Bousquet, Kasiano....then struggling
Leeds - Oledzki, Prior, Tetevano, Holroyd
Castleford - Watts, Millington, Massey, Griffin, Daniel Smith, Matagi, Bienik
Wakefield - Fifita, Arona, Tanginoa, Battye, Green, Tangata,
Huddersfield - Yates, Lawrence, English, Gavet, Trout,
Salford - Mossop, Ikahihifo, Burke, Lussick, Luckley
HKR - Vete, Sims, King, Storton, Maher, Mustapha,
Leigh - Flower, Sidlow, Spencer, Ioane, Peteru
Hull - Taylor, Satae, Bowden, Sao, Brown, Matongo
I think our prop line-up is ok - we have big backs that also take over some workload. The other sides who I think can match up to our front row; Saints have some good props, Wigan don't have big names, but they play at a high level week in, week out and are aggressive. Cas only have 1 outstanding prop, but then some good experienced props

| Nathan Peats rumoured to be signing for Leigh. That's a timely pre season boost for them if true.

That can't be all of Leeds' props surely? Some people are actually tipping them to be top 3 this year

| I think we could finish as high as third if injuries and covid don't derail us, but given the squad size and lack of genuine pace in the side I would say 5th or 6th is more likely, with Saints and Wigan looking ominously strong, Warrington probably third and Leeds 4th. A season too early perhaps for Huddersfield and Cas will be lurking around 6th or 7th which will give Powell license to moan about something or other and blame everything or anyone other than himself for their lack of success.

| Depending on Injurys, I think we l finish 4th, being a far better organised and structured team under Hodgson.
But questions over quality in squad depth, I think we've a strong 17, but beyond that I think we struggle for quality.
As somebody mentioned if we have 2 Injurys in the prop department the drop off in impact and metres made is huge.
I'd gladly take a steady 4th place, and hopefully Hodgson can continue to build HIS preferred team and add some more additions.

Front row must still be a concern as Hodgson admitted the club discussed Remi Casty as an option
Now Powell is leaving Cas someone should get Liam Watts to do something daft off the field so Cas release him and we get him back cheap.
