Only Watts has gone from that 2017 pack and we've added Paea, Westerman and Savelio, plus the rise of Masi.

| The defeats haven’t been unexpected, but the margins (and number) of them has been.
I’m sure APs not happy with that aspect either.
There is a boom or bust mentality amongst some supporters. Hence why you only see some on here after a defeat.
I’m taking this season for what it is, which is a transitional one. I’m not totally happy with that but we are where we are.
Just enjoy the good moments when they present themselves.

And therein lies the problem. Age and time.
Most people think Mini and Manu are now past it, Ellis has had to come out of retirement. Houghton by his own high standards has not been his usual self for best part of a season (recent Rovers game aside, when he was excellent).
So I think the poster who said only Taylor would get in the Saints pack and then be 3rd choice is correct. Paea is not the player he once was, Westerman has been good but out injured and Savellio potentially a very good signing but fitness and injury issues again.
Masi has been improving but still very much a work in progress.

But why could Hull not have their dander( not gander, unless they've got a goose on the wing) up and play with confidence, having won 3 on the bounce. We went there and capitulated.
For all your recent attacks on me I'm not opposed to Hull losing but rather the performance, unfortunately a trait seen far too many times at Hull over recent seasons.
There were times when I'd be confident in beating Wakey without much fuss but they've improved immeasurabley nowadays.
Yes following Hull has never been easy, wish it was but complacency has seem to become common place.
You never see Wigan, Leeds, Warrington or Saints resting on their laurels, accepting mediocrity or dining off cup wins and league placings for a while.
Not saying we should have won yesterday as they're a well coached team but just to turn up have a real dig and perform would have been acceptable for me.
Hope that's not too negative for you?

We're only in April and we've already used about 30 players this season. When was the last time we were able to put out a pretty much settled, strong side for a good run of games?

Think you've missed the point.
You don't need your starting 17 to play with enthusiasm, motivation or desire,it's a mental thing.
Your starting 17 will give you a better chance of winning however.

There was a possibility that we could have gone level on points with Wire yesterday if results had gone in our favour. So we're not that far off and we haven't even hit our straps yet.

A coach that kicks backsides and doesn't make excuses would help too, surely?

The three teams highlighted are perhaps the wealthiest in the league and by some distance. That's said, it hasn't stopped wire from being middle 8's a few years back, Leeds middle 8's for two seasons and currently struggling badly or Wigan floundering at the foot of the table.
I went yesterday. Yes, its very disappointing to get a good hiding and the best team by a country mile won on the day. At 10 Nil up after ten minutes there was a sense of optimism. Then St's woke up. Their first two tries were very soft. From that point everything went St's was (a bit like everything went our way on Good Friday). Now, just for clarity, I am not blaming the referee for our defeat and its likely that every call was probably correct on the field of play, but the consistency in the official was not there at all. St's were awarded penalties on tackles 4 or 5. Most of our penalties were on tackles 1 or 2. We had three consecutive penalties within their 20 meter line within 2 minutes, yet no yellow card or team warning. We get pinged five time for forward passes (two of which disallowing tries) yet apparently St's never passed the ball forward once.
We also got confirmation that certain players, when given the opportunity, were a long way off the standard needed simply to compete. The coach takes ultimate responsibility for the team, but there has to be some personal responsibility by the players as well. For the number of times our left edge got targeting yet the players on that side didn't seem to learn or recognise the dangers in front of them??? That's not the coaches downfall.

But surely when you have one of the best centres in Super league playing for Saints you dont play a young rookie centre against him.
It would have been better to move Tuimavave to left centre and play Scott at right centre.
Even better play Connor Wynne at full back and move Connor to centre.
One of the reasons i dont rate Radford
