| Personally my top 3 would be..
1.Shane Flanagan.
2.Nathan Brown.
3.Ian Watson.
For mine, we need someone who is experienced in man-management,
the attitude and culture needs a total reset...
At this moment in time, an inexperienced Head Coach, or a coach from a lower division would be a massive gamble - IMO

Brown or Watson for me
Will Flanagan be able to coach over here? I know he cant get a top job in the NRL for a few years. The RFL might take a similar stance and uphold his ban.
The other name i've seen thrown about is Barrett, don't know enough about him coaching wise though. It all seemed to go very wrong towards the end of his time at Manly.
I'd look to move Last on too. He's been part of the pally pally culture that has been built.
Promote KP to assistant, reduce Ellis playing time and move him onto the coaching.

| Flanagan will stick around for the St. George’s job.
Not sure about Brown. Would he be what we need?. Not sure he plays the expansive game AP is wanting.
Whatever happens, we need someone from outside the Hull bubble.

| Think Watson would be the one to go out for UK based. He has shown to be very astute and his teams play an open expansive style. If you look at the Salford teams they have mainly consisted of players other teams haven’t wanted. Yet he has managed to get them working together as one with structured play and in the face of major upheaval of playing personal throughout their seasons.
He’s probably the only one I’d go that’s involved in the British game. Flanagan is probably the pick of the bunch in Australia sure there’ll be interest from many.

I'd be looking to move Last on asap, the club needs a new sweep..
Cant see Watson coming imminently, maybe next season, personally I'd stick with Purtill & Ellis, until our main target is more easier to prise away..
until our targets are

Is Hodgson the new Griffin, or is it all about pace?: |

I can't imagine anyone from Australia moving to Europe as things stand at the moment, whether games are being played or not.

| Wilf may be able to say more but believe McNamara more or less begged for the FC job when Gentle was sacked but AP went with Radford

Wasn’t we going to appoint him when Kear left, but Bradford quickly offered him the job there?
Wouldn’t want him here now. Hopefully it goes to someone not born in the HU postcode.

I've been thinking about this since Thursday and tbh I reckon Macnamara would be a good fit. Forget the Hull connection, I don't think he's the clique type. He's coached at the top level for some time now. He's also handled some really big names and bigger ego's at Catalan. His time in charge of the national team wasn't bad infact he was hard done too by the RFL who opted for a bigger name and failed miserably (bare that in mind). I reckon he'd go well here and more importantly he'd love the job. Don't dismiss him to easily.

| Quote: Chris71 "JK got us to a Cup Final and won it and was then got rid of by Kath, rumours being because of sandwich gate.
To be fair Peter Sharp got us to our only GF appearance and was then shafted figuratively speaking by Kath along with the Cooke affair so he quit. Had he been left to do his job without having one hand tied behind his back I reckon he'd have moulded us into a decent team and would have got the best out of the players he had.
Peter Gentle was unfortunate in that he didnt know enough about the players in SL and AP at the time was still pretty green. AP had McRae who pretty much abused his position and gave poor advice to both AP and Gentle which ultimately came at the cost of Gentles job.
Now AP is much more knowledgeable with his own trusted contacts both her and in the southern hemisphere I think he would appoint the right candidate from Aus, NZ or the UK.'"
CC asides, I much more enjoyed watching hull under the past coaches you mentioned, bang on about sharp
