Couple of things bug me on this.

Why was he only signed on a 1 year Academy deal

Why was he 18th man on Sunday, did they not know he was going then?

Seemed an odd thing to do, if they were only talking to him about a contract extension any way. Why bring him in at all at this stage?

And surely we would have to go through the paperwork process, RFL registration to the first team squad etc etc and any cap impilcations??

I find all of this very strange - this is a boy we are talking about - how old is he 16 I dont know - sorry if I sound old. I am sure that his Mum and Dad had some impact on this not agents or Hetheringtons Have we got Jack signed up we know that Tommy is. As they say 2 out of three aint bad. Those who think Tommy will be looking in the direction of Leeds because his baby brother has gone in that direction grow up.

Bugs me too, in fact it seems very strange that days before leaving for Leeds he is, out of the clear blue sky, brought in as 18th man for an important play-off game. Surely there were numerous other players who one would have expected to be 18th man before him. After all, an 18th man is only a pulled muscle in the warm up away from being in the team!

Never mind the conspiracy theories and Kath, what about our esteemed and about to be released coach? Did he know what was about to happen with this player from the same little town he comes from who he'd brought to the club? Did he think he'd parade this hitherto unknown talent on TV to the general public before we embarrassingly lost him to the very team we were playing?

All thoroughly strange in my opinion and you get the feeling there are some bitter people about.

Absolutely - that's 100% what it looks like to me; can't be any other reason that springs to mind. A parting shot to the fans who continued to turn up in 1000s , watch endless defeats at clubs above us and be patronised with facile post match excuse-a-thons; true class.

Notwithstanding the lad thought he'd be better off at a club that actually does have a record of promoting young players?

No matter what vibes the new regime put out, he obviously thought that marge today is infinitely better than jam tomorrow

I'm not blaming Briscoe for leaving in any way. My point was about the 18th man selection on Sunday. Most likely reason for this selection, universally described as surprising, was Agar rubbing our noses in it IMO.

He's not that bright

He convinced his bosses he was a SL head coach for 4 years when all available evidence suggested otherwise. Not stupid.

Got to agree, he has managed to portray himself as this 'nice, humble simpleton from Fev' however there have been plenty of times when this mask has slipped and he has shown himself to be pretty arrogant and full of himself.
