Did your knowledge come from playing at school or just becoming a supporter ?, either way you still are not watching the game correctly!'"
I played at School, being part of a Yorkshire Cup and National Cup winning side. I played Youth Club rugby upto U17's. Played open age for only one and a half season as I was seriously injured whilst playing. Subsequently I trained with a few amateur clubs to keep fit for around 7 year. I have been losely involved sports media on coverage of RL. I have watched the professional game for the last 30 years.
Given the conditions, I thought Leeds did ok. Note, I am not saying they were great, fantastic or even slick, just ok. They did the basics better then Hull. Yes, as Carl points out, they spilled the ball on several occasions, due to the wet conditions. Also, as Carl points out, Peacock did bomb two chances, he should have passed to Ablett. Instead he passed to Maguire, who subsequently knocked on. I lost count of the times the likes of Radford, Westerman, Lauaki etc knocked on within the opposition 20 yard line. To say they were poor suggests you either do not consider Hulls defencive effort in the first 70 mins as being good and you have not factored in the wet conditions.
OH, Seb. You still on your one man boycott? Or did you go against your promise of no longer attending whilst Agar was in charge. Either way you appear to have the backbone of a newt

| Quote: airliebod "I am a very very old fan but fairly new to this site. I am not being funny or confrontational but is this icecreamann really James Rule or Kath? He always seems to respond with a long drawn out /fairly calculated spin/response regarding Mr. Agar a few days after a defeat and subsequent discontentment topics.i.e giving himself or others time to "spin" a good "spin". Yet as someone hinted previously when we win and he feels a spin isn't necessary he pops up quicker than a pop tart. I could be very wrong obviously (hes going to say I am regardless!!) but his obvious passion for Mr. Agar is soooo the opposite of that of the vast majority of the fans I cannot help but suspect he is somehow not all he seems. Warrington was indeed a great win (yes I was there too). It does not however come close to making up for the countless and many disappointments we have endured and sadly witnessed during his reign. Mr Agar is driving fans away, the view as a spectator at the kc doesn't lie. He claimed he would walk away if he wasn't up to the job, he isn't, he hasn't, BUT HE SHOULD!! He is unsettling and in some instances driving away lifelong fans and more importantly he is taking the very heart and passion out of watching our beloved team. He probably is a very nice guy, with a good heart and very good intentions, he isn't however imo (and many many others), the man to steer The Mighty FC to real progression, successes and silverware. Many of us have given him our support and indeed time to turn things around in a positive way, but enough is now enough.'"
Welcome, like thinker!
(For what it's worth, I believe ICECREAMMAN is a communal sign-on for a few different people within the club, the odd player, maybe some of the coaching and back-room staff. As BB has pointed out the writing style, grammar and (laughingly) opinions change daily. Somedays he's an Aussie, somedays appears to have a long history in this country. Either way, (t)he(y)'s fascinating.)

I posted on Sunday that the only positive was the fact our defence was good...Leeds also displayed a good defensive game,. However both teams were poor in offence, Leeds were sbetter but by their own standards poor, the Leeds of last season would have put a cricket score against us had we performed like we did on Sunday, Leeds are not the team they were last year, very inconsistent, the game imo was a poor show overall. Given the conditions our forwards should have won the game but they were poor.

| Well I can only speak for myself obviously, but he doesn't get my back up. That spot is reserved for one man and one man only!!! I was merely, by the intensity of his post(s), perhaps curiously suspicious of his seemingly "agar in" motives. The old cynic in me maybe but who knows eh!!

| I speak as someone who has the dubious benefit of physical and (after the last few years), a greater degree of emotional detachment. I have seen and supported Hull FC for 50+ years and like many on here, have seen some great times and some absolute lows. One thing that does rankle with me though, is in the past, no matter how bad we were, we couold always pull something out to beat Leeds. A feat that we have spectacularly failed to achieve under Richard Agar.
When he was promoted to full-time (as opposed to caretaker) 1st team coach/manager, he was promoted beyond his capabilities. He is not, nor ever has been, nor ever will be a successful Superleague team manager. He has introduced a style of play that now leaves me numb. I sit and watch a game and even when we appear to be playing well, I sit and wait for what now appears to be the inevitable: Millenium Magic against KR and the Saints home game being prime examples.
I've got to the point now where I consider myself fortunate that I no longer live in Hull. I can use the excuse that I'm 300 miles away for my non-attendance, rather than feel that I am somehow betraying my heritage.
Thank you Agar, you did this you 2@

Great post my friend sadly you are not on your own. I relish the thought of more seasons of Agar's dull tactics like i relish the thought of having a giant genital wart!!!

| But Warrington chose a coach that had won Super League. they could see that Lowes was out of his depth as a first team coach.

Thats the point!! The fans can see Agar is out of his depth and not upto the task as Head Coach but the BOD seem to think he's fanbloodytastic which is why we seem to be stuck with him.
