The problem is that whatever pearson does, we still have the 2 limiting factors of salary cap and players actually available. If we can address a few small fundamental weaknesses then we can significantly improve. A half back with a kicking game who doesn't spend most of the season injured would be a start. A couple of decent props and good full back who doesn't feck off 1/3 of the way into the season and I think we'll be firmly in the group of teams behind wigan. Looks like plenty of teams will likely be weaker next season anyway

Pitts can improve but he isnt a prop...needs serious bulking up if he does.

All the announced signings are upgrades over the players they replace, some more than others. Arundel is an England Knight already and has the potential to be a star player in our league. Watts has fallen by the wayside but possesses the physical talents to be another good player in our league.

If our signing of Crookes is true he is another upgrade on Sharp, young, pacey and certainly showed Rovers he knows where the try line is at Caravan Park this year. I like that we are signing young but experienced English players as full England international very rarely change clubs at the peak of their careers. As already noted signing establish NRL's stars is likely to become a think of the past.

Holdsworth played well last night. Would be a good addition IMO.

I just hope we get a group of players who actually have the desire to match their ability.

So,since you have had the NRL reject...what have you won...nothing..same as us without the all conquering Dobson.Maybe we ballsed up by not signing him but you offerd the money.Every player wants to test himself in the best league and that is the Aussie league and Dobson couldnt hack it.As for replacing with Better...Wigan replaced him with Leuluai,who is way better than Dobson,Catalan doesnt count really as he was only there for a short stint.

We have consistently outperformed many established Super League clubs in luding yourselves, not bad for a relatively new club in SL.

Neither club has troubled a major final in recent years, clearly you have to go back decades for Rovers, 4 years for us.
Neither club look like "challenging" right now.
Next year wil be your 7th in SL. Catalans delivered more in their early years.
Dobson, as Brian Noble confirmed, was paid a "whole chocolate factory" by Rovers as opposed to the bar Wigan were offering him at the time. For this gargantuan salary, he's delivered well, but is empty-handed trophy-wise. Not so TL.
