Starting to get those butterflies again, now it is almost upon us. I find watching Hull, even in finals with a good team, excruciating and I wish I could enjoy it more, but I am going to be there with my father , who is 91, my kids and prospective son & daughters in-law, so its becoming a proper generational gathering of family, and win or lose it's good to be able to say that after the horrors of Covid 19 not long back. Gotta count our blessings, I ,suppose, just hope we have a real dig tomorrow, that's all we ask.

What's annoying and so frustrating and has been for the past few seasons now is you aren't surprised if we get an absolute tonking and wouldn't put it past them to turn up and win. the problem being they just don't turn up enough.

I used to feel like that, all week I'd be looking forward to the rugby whether home or away it would be the main thing to get me through the working week, but now it feels like a chore and can't get excited about going. I don't think it's all hull but the general apathy for the game altogether.

Talking of our greatest days, Saturday is the 40th anniversary of Hull beating Rovers at The Boulevard in the title decider. Hull won 20-3 in front of 20,500 and went on to win the title.



Bitter sweet for me, as the game got put back a week from Good Friday as Hull were in the CC Semi a Final. The game then clashed with my sister’s wedding, so I missed the match. Had to make do with listening to the game with a Rovers fan in the car park during the Evening Do.

Remember it well, I was a ball boy. I think Gary Kemble and Lydiatt got sent off in that game IIRC, probably not.

I'm guessing Cator will spell Dwyer at 9, I kind of get leaving Litten out, in a protecting him sort of way. Don't get the point of Mitch on the bench, backrow will get destroyed.

i'm guessing Mitch on the bench due to Shaul only playing one half of a reserve game since pre season and Carlos having a badly dislocated finger.

Then why play Shaul? What does Litten have to do to get a game at Full back

Mitch for me should have started on the wing to tighten up the right edge.

Now its likely tinkering Tony will move McIntosh to full back and Mitch to the wing sometime in the game

No way on earth does that side win tomorrow. It looks worse with every look I give it.

Whilst I can understand the thinking behind bringing the experience of Shaul into the 17 at FB instead of Litten in what will be a pressure cooker of a game and atmosphere just I fail to see how having McIntosh in ahead of Litten is a positive. Litten has been far more assured and secure than McIntosh who just looks like a rabbit in the headlights.



I wasn’t very confident of getting much out the game before the team was announced but by god that 17 is very poor.
