| with bin mans side step and pace or lack of for a winger, maybe he may move to centre. if we didn't have so many 2nd rowers id have even been tempted to try him there...the new manu.
mini cheddar will be a class act on the opposite side to ellis, both with be able to organise the defence around them. with pryce coming in, I think that will take the pressure of snyed slightly, having the experience head with him(like at cas) Micheals looks (from what ive seen of him) like a pacey customer, and getting through gaps making breaks, hopefully that's what we get from him. naughton will be there as cover and to put pressure on shaul and the other wingers and centres.
time will tell how the signing will pan out, still feel like we (hull fc) haven't made all our signings yet, if we have, again I think we have that something missing

If rankin were to go into hooker, I reckon it would be like a azza effect, quick speed around the play the ball, but could also jump in the halves. rankin to centre was what I spoke about with a mate of mine last season, would be interesting move. extra ball handler on the field and pace to burn...love his little springbok skip and how he pulls players out the defensive line.
big fan of rankin

| Quote: *1865* "I agree that we'll need to play the long game to get a consistent flow, but that bunch of what were technically u17's this year are the best in the country at their age and have been for years. They finished in the top half and competed in the playoffs against teams that were predominantly 2-3 years older than them this year. If we don't see 7 or 8 become top SL players over the next few years I'd be massively surprised.
As for signings, I'm looking forward to seeing Naughton. Bulls fans speak very highly of his skills and it will be good for Shaul to have someone applying pressure on him.'"
Well, lets hope so as this could be the core of a team for years to come. The potential is there, and there is no doubting that.

| So Rankin started as a full back, then a make shift off half and now some see him as a hooker or want to see him at hooker?

rankin came in as a half back/full back, giving the way teams play these days. moving him to hooker is just what people are suggesting, with how he plays

| If the RL bring in two referees next season then with a much faster play the ball Rankin could be a sensation at 9.
Adam Pearson thinks so too and I agree.
That said I think Rankin will in any case feature regularly in the side.

They are not brining in two refs next season. If it happens, it wont be until 2016 at the earliest

Will he be as good as a Tony Blackburn sensation?

[sizeWhere does this centre /winger business come from?[/size He's an out & out winger. I don't watch the Titans much but the only time
I've seen him at centre in first grade was in an emergency, - he`was' a far better winger than Talanoa though, - interesting times?'"
It's tricky, but I would hazard a guess that it's because he started 50 NRL games in the centres. A mere 11 games less than he played on the wing.

| The modern game is built on quick plays and speed. with all due respect to No 9s of the past most of them would not have the speed or agility needed as a 9 now. Look at Clark he would not be out of place anywhere in the backs, and before anyone says Rankin is not in the same league i would say given the chance he would not be far off. Surley it would be worth a punt

If you are not part of the solution then you are more likely part of the problem...: |
|
| As I called Dom Maloney the best signing of 2009 I would probably be best sitting this one out...
However, Minichiello will bring what we need to the edges in tough defence and a bit of pace and aggression.
Back row looks very strong.

You still have to be physically strong enough to defend in the middle of the park!
Will never be in the same league as Clarke, bookmark this!!!

I'd rather bookmark your posts saying Micky Paea would never sign for Hull FC.
