His size doesn't come into it IMO 5ft 11, reasonable pace but would need to add 1.5 stone which would slow him down a little in any case.
As others have said, I wouldn't be sure he could hack the work rate but you never know, if the centres are sorted for next season (arundel/Crooks) with a young un coming through (not sure who that would be tbh) it might be a time for everyone all round to think if its worth him doing that for 2014.
If not I can't see us re-signing him after his 2014 extension, well I wouldn't want him if we are to make full use of our left wing...

Yeaman right now is better than Arundel so there is absolutely no certainty that he will take Yeamo's spot, infact i very much doubt he will. More likely Crooks and Arundel will fight out for the other centre spot.

Roughly the same size as Watmough for Manly and he doesn't struggle against bigger opponents , Would be an interesting to see how Yeaman went in the 2nd row.

He doesn't work hard enough to play 2nd row.

It something he'd obviously have to work on "if" he ever moved into that position .

He's not that kind of player, as PAULM has said, he's a centre, never be anything else.

A few years ago, I think it was in the Sharpe era, there was a plan to move Yeamo to the 2nd row and he trained there all pre-season. then the usual injuries struck and they had to play him in the centres again and it never happened.

At the time it was said that Yeamo had one of the best "engines" of anyone at the club and relished more involvement and hard work.

I reckon he could go well there, Glilmour and others have moved from centre to second row successfully late in their careers.

Mind you, I still think he's the best cenntre we've got, for the timebeing

You sure that was Yeamo, and not Whiting?

Like I said before, size isn't important for a second rower, it's generally strength and good defence and a few other components of fitness. People need to give there head a bang if they say he doesn't work hard enough to be a second rower. He hasn't been given the opportunity and that hasn't been proven. What centres can you look at and see they have decent work rate? I'm not saying he should be second row, he is best suited to be a centre but some people's excuses are stupid and clearly have poor knowledge of RL.

I'd suggest some people have way more knowledge of RL than you.

The "your'e wrong, because I'm right" argument is about 50 years out of date.

Yeaman is a good centre, he'll never be a 2nd row, and I doubt he'll ever want to be, it doesn't suit his persona.

It was tried with Yeaman as well, but I think it was as far back as McRae's last year. IIRC, it was also said that his concentration over 80 minutes was not up to scratch (at that time) and playing shorter stints in the back row may have suited him better. It was an experiment rapidly put paid to by Eagar breaking his arm.

Don't subscribe to this 'doesn't work hard enough to be a 2nd row' theory.

What centre does?

I think he could make a very decent 2nd rower but we would have to see if he could manage the extra workload.

Not say he doesn't now so never will be able to.

I agree. There were many doubts about Whiting coping with the workload, and then again about the workload through the middle. You'll never know for sure until you try it.

Having said that, I don't personally think that he'd be as good a backrower as he has been a centre.

Many centre's go on to play in the second row so I don't think the transition is that great tbh. Also Carl Spacker was right , It was under McRea.

I notice that there are a couple of people on here that said the same about whiting, I honestley think he has all the attributes to make a very good backrow forward, he is strong and has good defence. Their isn't must difference in size to Liam Farrell who doesn't seem too bad does he?
