The OP has a point - Seymour did a stack of defending first half and gradually got worse second half as he tired. Well done to Leeds for that. Where were our second rowers running hard strong and straight at their halves ? We ran some terrible plays especially when Houghton was on and Leeds' halves didn't have anything like the work to do as ours.

Really disappointed with the lack of aggression and vigour from us with or without the ball. Gentle talks about us not 'gelling' yet but the above mentioned attributes don't really rely on that. We look small and slow up front and Leeds were always going to get on top as the game wore on - they deserved that right because they ran harder and faster particularly off their defensive line. I don't see why we can't match that 'gelled' or not.

Our back row played nearly, if not all, the full game.

It was rotation madness.

He missed more than he made and his attempt on Ryan Hall when he scored was embarrassing.

Seymour was crap last season and crap tonight. No wonder we tried so hard to replace him in the off season. Would rather see Horne there. Or Heremaia. Or just about anyone, in fact.

our attack looked too deep tonight when we shipped the ball wide we got caught in posession endless times we needed that inside pass but there was no runners on the positive hezza looked very good when spelling houghton who tried to do too much and just needed to give a fast play of the ball arundale looks terrible in defence and needs to be fixed up or dropped for the next game Chris green had a great spell and we looked better when OMeley came on also its very early days but thats a disapointing start

Seymour was terrible he was poor last year and even worse tonight. His passing is horrendously slow and erratic in saying that so is houghtons, our passing from 9 to 7 to 6 tonight was painful to watch it resulted in us constantly getting caught in posession. Our attacking structure was the worse ive seen it for a couple of seasons hopefully it will improve otherwise were in bother.

Did they? Galea and Westy did, but Whiting and Pitts alternated. Would have had better rotation with Ellis playing, as Green filled his boots at prop.

why do people persist in critising our half backs. We could have had sterling at 7 but no team is going to win a game when their pack is beaten. Leeds Pack out muscled us, We had little go forward so our halves had no chance

Pitts started at prop, but you're right about Whiting. IMO he should have come back on earlier than he did to replace Galea as well. I really cannot fathom why Galea played the 80, and in one of the few times I've seriously questioned Gentle, I don't really see how he can justify it.

I thought DJ tried all he could in terms of organisation and kicking game, but play was generally too slow throughout. Azza showed that when he came on and injected a bit of pace, proving how valuable it is for any team. Our slow PTB is definitely an area we need more work on.

The one problem I have with that partnership is pace, we don't have any. It needs work, lots of work.

One thing I would say (yes I know it needs time) but Wigan's halves looked great apparently tonight (yes it was Salford). Extremely well drilled and knew their role well.

Why can't Gentle get ours working that quick?
