| He was rubbish. As a number 7 he should be setting up plays that involve a number of players. That way he would have options and then he just needs to pick the right pass. All we do is just drive it in or the odd drop off.

Very well said!! Don't wish injuries, but Long just clearly doesn't want to play for us....
Obst has been far better in 3 games than Long in his entire duration!!

Nope cos hes employed by the club, EVERYTHING off the pitch is a joke, nothing on the pitch will improve untill the administration change

| Long was thrown in tonight because of his name and not peformance.. whilst Obst has looked a better option at 7 in the last 2 games..
Should have stuck with him as long was rubbish tonight..no organisition,no leadership, crap kicking...awful.

| Quote: PAUL M "Kicking game was poor but when we had the ball he was constantly organising the line, he was taking the line on and a couple of times busted the line with an inside ball but he just needed more options. For his first game back he looked okay and certainly did more than Horne.'"
Nearly everything went through horne, we seemed to only be capable when swinging it to his side. Long was OK in the first half but offered absolutely nothing in the second. The lines most players ran all night were dreadful.

| Agree, but why change a promising half back pairing, given more time I think Obst/Horne will go better.
We have no dummy runners to help out whatever half back plays.
Slinging long balls along the line is easy for a sliding defence.
What concerns me is the breaks we made and the way Wakey were able to turn and catch us, thus contributing to us making rash passes when in the clear.

| With Long on the bench I think Obst and Horne would have had us in a winning position in the first half and help to ease Long back to match fitness, typical lack of thought from out coach.

Have to disagree there, Paul. He had glimpses in the game, played better in the second before he went off, had a half break to put Westy through and tried to take the line on a bit. But that's it. He certainly didn't do enough.
Horney for me played his heart out, but nobody was with him on his runs.

You mean the "world class" Richard Horne? (I know you never said he was, just pointing out how idiotic some on here have been)
Long had a decent 15 minutes, other than that he was going through the motions, but there were a lot doing that. We seem to have lost the ability to give a decent pass, why the hell we dropped Turner to bring Lyne in and shuffle players to accomodate him is beyond me.
Agar won't go anywhere, he wont get sacked and he wont walk because he knows no other club would be stupid enough to employ him other than as some kind of Victorian side show.
As you said in the other thread, even if he goes what do we get, Webster? FatNamara?, I never thought I'd hear that amount of booing and calling for the coach, 11,500 there last night, a tonking at Quins next week (which is a real possibility) and they'll struggle to get 13,000 against Castleford (who will bring many more than the pathetic Wakefield traveling attendance).
Certain posters on here have, in the past, had a dig at me for not going to games last season, what they forget is I was living and working in London, now I am a little nearer home it's still a trek, I got back home last night just after 11:40pm, for what, a clapped out 7, a 13 that isn't a 13, Westerman playing well so subbed, Obst on the bench and then brought back on with 6:28 to go, a 6 that can't pass, I'll not go on, I'm depressed enough.
And, on a final note, can I say to the guy with the microphone "shove it where the sun doesn't shine", we'll sing Old Faithful when WE want to, not when some no-mark in a suit tells us to.

about the only good thing about last night (other than catching up with friends) was that the parking was free!

Couldn't agree more. Long was in the top 3 performances last night although admittedly that isn't saying much. The bloke tried his heart out and created a fair bit. The support play around him was an embarrassment.
